How easy is a gigs to tame?
To make a long story short, my friend saw a level 5 giga. He started to shoot at it with bow-and-arrow narcos and is leading it back to the house. We’ve tamed some rexes before so I think we are prepared. Any tips on tranquilizing this big boy? We have something like 350-ish narco arrows in storage

Your admin seems like a really nice guy for giving out something so crazy valuable, woah lol, lucky you!

I'd have given something cool and useful, like a mid level kaprosuchus/baryonyx/Allosaur/Yutyranus/Therizinosaur/megalosaurus but not an endgame DLC dino

A good giga is hard to find so thats probly why people are telling you that their bad . Quetz are easy with 2 people or even solo to tame with a scorp/frog so not really challenging for most.

isn't a good giga counterproductive with the whole rage mode problem?

yeah Quetz are a normal difficulty with 2 people but it's hella tricky by yourself.

does holding a scorp in your argy's talons so that it can apply torpor work again now?

I've never tried carrying a scorp to tame a quetz, that sounds really awkward. But grapple dangle from a bird makes it pretty easy to solo tame one.

Ive heard (yet to test) that the grapple method, with a moth, works well.

Moth bite does no damage... plus it debuffs the quetzals speed.

that's totally genius, never thought of anything like that.

I tried that with an argent. problem was my argent did a lot of damage and quetz are fragile so it was very tricky and they usually died before I had them tranqed

You dont attack the quetz with the argent your riding, you just get the scorpion close to said quetz and let it do the work ...
Either way that method (to my knowledge atleast) only works on lower level quetz, anything max level is most likely going to die before getting knocked out.

If you mean the grapple method you need to control your bird with whistles, attack target to catch up, passive when it gets you close enough to take a shot

As stated above, an enraged giga is a killing machine that cares for nothing anywheres near it. A giga needs to be in a walled area with a stronger wall protecting your base.
