Any dino that can mine element nodes?
After defending the element nodes, is there a dino that can mine them? using tools is a bit slow and tedious.

This is straight from the wiki "note that only metal tools such as the pickaxe or hatchet can be used to harvest the element, as using creatures to harvest them will only result in its destruction without any element harvested."

∆ this. Only metal tools to harvest.
While that might be true, I think it’s a pretty poor design choice to make a game and two dlc expansions that specifically encourage using tames to harvest almost every resource in the game for greater efficiency and yield, then arbitrarily make a key resource in the game’s last chapter unharvestable this way. There’s no good reason for this that I can see and it feels almost like trolling of the playerbase by WC. “Ha ha we trained you to use dinos all this time, now it’s counterproductive on this endgame resource. Noobs!”

Till mods get created to balance the new content.

While i do agree up to a certain point, i kind of like being off my mount exposed to the dangerous wasteland part of the map. It also creates the need for your friends to defend you while you mine it, since stuff can litteraly spawn on top of you while doing so.

Cheers guys. Missed that bit.

Yeah, I feel that way a bit too :) Mining element feels like occupational therapy.

This is also an option yes, though i have to find any naturaly spawned worms that yield horns to actually tame them.

Mantises aren't tamable on Extinction since they're only in the caves, but if you got one from SE it should work since metal tools can harvest, so metal tools on a mantis should also work.
Also, considering how Element has changed so many other things it's came in contact with, it may not be such a great idea to hit it directly with your tames.

Death worms spawn in the forbidden zone area with the billions and billions of rexes, gigas, and wyverns.
Actually, as a side question, has anyone tried a chainsaw on an element vein yet? I haven't noticed a difference between pickaxe and axe so I don't know if the chainsaw would heavily bias towards dust/shards/element or not or even if it works better.

Another intresting suggestion .... *looks around his vault to find his spare chainsaw and mask*

A Mantis wouldn't be a problem for me since I got a cross-ark with Ragna and have the Immersive taming mod, but for official servers, that would be an issue, yeah.
