By your logic you should never play any game with paid dlc ever, because, well, if the game releases OPTIONAL paid content, then the devs are somehow bad.

Also the maps are literally the only things you're paying for with the paid dlc's. While each dlc does include it's own gear and creatures, these things are provided to all players games free of charge and can be acquired through mods or trading with other players if on official, so again you're only paying for the map itself, the rest they give you. So selfish of people to expect to profit from their hard work. You should make a new game and release free dlc all the time to show them how it's done.

That’s just a hair under 27k servers on maps that are completely free and cost nothing. But I’m sure they’re all just deserted because that’s only 3 of the top 5 most played maps in the game. A game currently sporting the most players it’s ever has in its 3 years of existence. Yet here you are rambling nonsense about how they shouldn’t make a map you have to pay for because you can’t find anybody.

I’ve giot some advice for you:

Go be clueless somewhere else instead of spouting profanity at people because you can’t figure out how to find anyone on one of the most popular games on steam right now. If just doing that is too much for you, you’ll never handle the challenges in this game.

Play unofficial. There are a lot of servers that have the island and ragnarock and you could trade for extinction dinos

Actually i just did a public server search and there are over 27,000+ servers open now with less than 30% being on extinction.

I think you guys conversation got a little out of control, but this game is well worth the money, and the reason the other maps cost extra is because you dont need them to enjoy the game at all.

The WildCard team has one of the very best games on steam right here and a solid good community. Sometimes the folks might seem like they were being smart to you , but it's just that this game attracts the super geeks who keep up with every stat and breeding combo things like that.

The week it was free was also first week Extinction came out and there was a ton of hype behind it, Ark has a huge dedicated fan base, we all wanted that map. And even people who told me they didnt have the money or whatever, ended up buying it because the game is just that good.

I cant go on any longer and explain here why devs need to charge extra for dlc's that took a Team of professional coders on Salary jobs over a year to create because my head would explode for having to explain that.

But i do have to say, this game is worth every single minute of it i played, even when dire wolves killed my fresh tame :(

There aren't 27k players. There are 27k SERVERS. You fail to see them because you used the limited ingame search engine, which experienced players will tell you in a heartbeat is crap. Battlemetrics isn't just some website, it's verified collected data on each and every server. You can pick any one of those servers and get indepth data on how many players have played on it from time horizons from the past day to the past 3 months. You can see who has played on it and who is logged into that server now. You can look at graphs of total time played on that server and you can see up to 4 mods the server uses.

All of this information is at any players fingertips that makes half an effort to look for it. Had you come here and instead of spouting nonsense based on your grand total of having played one free to play week and having barely any understanding of how the game, it's servers, it's maps or dlc's work, asked for help or a point in the right direction, you would have gotten it. Instead you went off half ♥♥♥♥♥♥ spouting stuff that anyone who's actually played the game for any length of time saw for what it was.
