Help. Need to COMPLETELY uninstall this
So I don't want to leave any files behind and make a clean reinstall. Saddly since the extinction dlc came out both on abberation and extinction maps I'm lagging like crazy when I'm turning my camera around.
Ms goes crazy and fps drops to insanely low amounts. While this happens my GPU seems to drop its usage rate below 5% from 100%.

Thus I want to completely uninstall and reinstall. Any help will be appreciated

I actually wanted to delete even the appdata folder if there is one there. I once deleted it yet it didn't fix the issue at all. I know I'm not the only one with this issue but I have no choice but to try that

Just a thought... if your problems didn't start until Extinction came out.. isn't it quite possible that it has something to do with extinction and that the issue will return once you reinstall everything?? I think before you go to the extremes of completely uninstalling then reinstalling..do a file verification first.. then see what happens.. And one last thing I just thought of... (worked for many of us).. download Nvidia's GForce Experience https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/geforce-experience/ . Launch the game from within the ap.. it will change the games settings to what is best for your computer. I was shocked to see colors and such I had not seen before. I have since modified my settings to what I prefer (less shadows, less sky quality, etc)..

The lag and such with extinction this past weekend almost made it unplayable, for many many people. My thoughts are because the servers are packed to capacity with everyone playing because it is new. Read what Jen said yesterday on survivetheark.com, " We had our highest number of peak players ever on PC last Sunday which we were thrilled to see".https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/articles.html/community-crunch-158-post-launch-extinction-updates-r1020/

Verify files generally help, and for many people it always comes back you were missing something .. but whatever verifying the files does, it seems to help...

How to verify files:
When you are in your steam profile...
Click Library
Select game you want to verify
Right click to select properties
Click on Local Files Verify
(something like that)

Maybe more optimization to the game would help also.

I wish you much luck. please post back here if a clean reinstall helps :-)

Could the high number of players actually affect it tho? It seems to be affected by bush textures... When leaves ect load in then I get the issue. Only way to fix it is to turn down the textures to low then back up to whatever it was but it only fixes it for 10 secs until the textures load back in.

As for the verification I did try it out last week before the previous balance patch yet it didn't fix anything. Imma give it another go

I had this issue with Extinction. I play all the other maps on epic. Sadly I had to lower my graphics to high so I wouldn't have the camera lag on Extinction. Maybe try lowering your graphic settings.

This is my thoughts also, try lowering graphics without turning them back up to see what happens.. that is what the GeForece Experience will probably do..

Uninstall through Steam, then go to \Steam\steamapps\common folder and delete the Ark folder
and \Steam\steamapps\workshop\content and delete the 346110 folder to remove any leftover mod files from Ark

As far as I can tell there shouldn't be anything Ark related in %appdata%

You could also then use a program like Ccleaner to clear any left over Ark registry files

Doesn't seem to fix it unless I change textures to low but I will give it another try on high and medium when I get back home. Thanks for the advice tho!

Any chance they might be fixing this anytime soon?
