Iguanodon Seeding Greyed out
Anyone else having an issue with being unable to make seeds with the Iguanodon? I've been on several different servers and each time I tame an Iguanodon I can't make seeds in the inventory as it's greyed out.

It has the option for it, but you can't click and use it. I thought maybe you had to have male and female so tamed one of each; didn't work. I though maybe you had to be at a certain level, not the case as my character is at max level. Yes they had saddles on and even this did not help.

Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Does it have berries in its inventory?

Are you using a Stacking mod? This appears to disable the Seeding option.

If the server uses a stacking mod it breaks the iguanadons seeding ability, even if the stack you give them is the standard size. Some other mods that modify inventories can do the same thing. If you are playing official servers that don't use mods then you shouldn't need 2 or need them saddled, just have to put the berries in their inventory and then use the seed option. Since I do play mostly on a modded server, I find that it's easier to just gather the seeds yourself. Trikes are one of the better dinos for seed hunting, they get a decent amount of them (even the crop seeds and special ones like plant x) and they aren't quite as slow as the stego who gets roughly the same amount of seeds when harvesting.

LOL, yes there are berries in it's inventory. I have used this option before and that is why I'm posting this question because it has stopped working.

Yes, we are using a stacking mod. We changed from the mod that it was having the issues with and are using a different stacking mod. Is there a stacking mod that it would work with?

We've already decided the stacking mod is a better option to have then something that changes berries into seeds. However, I love the Shinehorns, Glowtails and Featherlights...so was hoping there was a fix to this issue and any time I needed seeds I wouldn't have to go and gather them.

Thank you. It seems we'll have to get our seeds the old fashioned way. :)

You could try HG seed crafter to expand farming.

My abberation server is one of the modded ones so I haven't really tested it but as far as I know iguanadons can't get plant z seeds from the fruit even when their seeding ability is not broken. Luckily plant z seeds are just the most effective taming food for glow pets, not the only option at all. If you just want to collect them because you like them, rather than focus on maximizing the tame efficiency for things like breeding them, it might be easier to use one of their secondary taming foods. Shinehorns secondary taming food is aggeravic mushrooms, glowtails is Ascerbic mushrooms, and the featherlights is Auric mushrooms. On official settings, with a max level tame, each of these secondary food option grants 2/3 taming effectiveness rather than the 98%-ish taming effectiveness of the plant z seed. Obviously your own server settings will affect that effectiveness though, so I can't say exactly what you will actually end up with.

Thanks. I avoid official servers like the plague. Over 6k hours in Ark and I've not been back to an official since I started.

I love unofficial servers. I've had my own servers, been on friends servers and have been on other servers. Always had good times.

I will give the mushrooms a try. Automatic Ark has a kibble table you can make the mushrooms using just metal. I'll see which works best for me, the seeds or the mushrooms. Thanks for the input. :)

Remove items in iguanodon inventory then put it back in,,option for seeding should be available after that

I think after a silence that lasted since 2018 they managed to fix the problem. Better very, VERY late than never I suppose,
