cannot cook food, PC, SP

I am on the PC version and cannot cook food. I add flint,wood and 1 x meat and let it cook for 5 4 minutes but nothing happens. The meat is still raw at the end of the process. I have destoyed the cook site and rebuilt it with the same results. I have verified the files and it said 2 files need reconsiling. This did not correct the issue and I have even uninstalled/reinstalled ARK and it was not fixed. HELP! I am just getting to play this game and not being able to cook is a huge distactor, I feel like I am a weed puller that occassionally gets attacked by dinos!

In the campfire interface there should be a button that says light fire. Are you seeing that? If there is wood in the fire’s inventory you should. The 2 files that won’t verify are normal, so it’s not that.

You don't put flint into a campfire.
Just wood (or some other fuel) and meat.
You did actually light the fire, right?

There are some weird cooking glitches sometimes, like for some reason my mutton (and only mine, other tribemates had no issues) became cooked prime instead of cooked mutton when I tried to process it. although I am curious, what are you trying to cook it in exactly? "cook site" makes me think you might be using the cooking pot instead of the campfire, and the cooking pot doesn't actually cook meat, it is used to craft recipes and dyes, it doesnt cook meat because some of those recipes require raw meat so that would potentially "waste" resources. If that is the case, try using the campfire instead.

Not a fanatic about skins 😋 ie: dont make posts crying about not having console skins.

I like making Meat Jerky, spoils slower and I think you get a little more health from eating it, Jerky all the way.

I was using the cookpot. I will replace it with a campfire and remove the flint. thank you all for the help!
