Current best all-around cave mount?

So I know this question has been asked a hundred times over the years, but the problem for me is that there seems to be no concensus about what is the best mount to take in. So far, my tribe has been using bred direwolves, but we're finding them to be somewhat lackluster, especially in the swamp cave and so we're trying to figure out if there is something better currently.

Here are the criteria that led us to the wolves:

- Must be able to fit into all of the caves on the island (except of course the ice cave and the water caves).
- Must be able to jump so they don't get stuck in there.
- Must be able to handle all the spawns in the cave without issue (preferrably solo for quick runs)

As I've said, the wolves meet these criteria, but seem to struggle in some of the caves. Additionally, there is no easy way to solo the caves because they rely fairly heavily on their pack bonus for survivability. We've been looking at ravagers to fill the role, but they also will likely rely on the pack bonus which makes them individually weaker. Most of the other larger, more powerful dinos either can't jump or can't fit in some of the caves which rules them out in our eyes because we are a small tribe and don't want to have to have 7 different tames for 7 different caves.

Can anyone suggest some more alternatives to the wolves please?

PS: We're currently on the island, but will be moving to scorched earth fairly soon within our current cluster, so if there is an option that can also do well in the caves there, that would be much more desireable.

For effective run s you ll have dinos ready right next to each cave.

Overall best is for sure baryonix - for upper south cave just get 2 of them ( one to drop down and never bring back up ).

They are fast, can jump, are water-capable etc.

While you could use them in swamp cave too,
there is another species wich is even great for cave of lost Faith - Beelzebufos.
( Both caves require a bit hp maybe 4 k - but for underwater skill speed and for swamp attack )

That being said - a combination of Baryonix, Beelzebufos and Speed-Basilo for cave of lost Hope.
( Just kite most dinos in cave of lost hope and fight only small packs if needed )

But... then there is north east cave - and no matter what - jumping straight down with Thyla is so fast and convienent to climb back up - i wouldn t wanna waste any more time then necessary.

But .. only getting the artefacts won t get you every boss ^^
So you need something for killing basilos, gigas .. etc.
And once you unlocked TEK .. you need black pearls.
( I recommed to get at least a tuso - especially when sticking with island and SE )

Personally i find the Bary to high for certain caves (it will fit but is really anoying at times), id prefer the Saber for lower end caves, much faster better jumping and great yield on chitin if you still need metric tons of it, shotgun or sword (decent quality + a few point in melee for your character) for the bats and its a really great caving mount that gets you almost every where if needed (without having to leave a dino behind in a cave).

Even in upper south, if you just need the artifacts you can just ignore the water sections and grapple to the artifact chamber much quicker then going into the water with a bary :)

Also a decent saddle + imprinted basil, will kill everything in any underwater cave without much issue, though high level alpha's take a long long time. Much easier to get then a tuso if you doing it solo, and there are plenty around the ocean to get a decent breeding pair going that has high health.
