Colorful Wild Dinos?

I have played 500+ hours and have occasionally seen things in uncommon colors (reddish, white, bright green, etc) but NEVER have I seen things like sapphire blue, royal purple, and many other variations of blue, purple, and some combo in various color regions. In the last week I have found Raptors, Trikes, Ankylosaurus, Rex, Ptera, Argent and more with bizzare color combos. Has anyone else had this happen? Not complaining, just curious.

Note: I mostly play single player, Vanilla with no Mods.

They started to appear after patch along with Tek Stego, no idea for how long they'll be around but players seem to enjoy taming them right now.

We're getting some new colors available for dinos as part of WC trying to build hype for Extinction.
It's likely we'll continue to get some special colors for the other three events aswell.

I just hope they don’t start making Dino’s in red, orange and pewter to hype Atlas. Those are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers colors, division rivals of my Panthers.

There are 2 ways to get special color dinos - events and breeding.

On official where gigatribes massbreed day and night, they get a lot mutations and trade a lot.
That way certain colors spread pretty fast.

If you rent a server or host it on your own hardware - you could enable certain passed events.
For example easter-event, ARKaeology-Event etc.
Don t know if you can re-enable pixark and xmass-events though.

There is something like a 3rd way - but its limited: Aberration Dinos.
( Limited because you can t crossbreed them with non-aberration dinos )

I don't like this new wild colored dinos, they look out of place, they don't match with the colors of the rest of the island.

You could try the launch parameter for no active event. But I am not sure it actually works. This isn't an event we had to activate like vday or christmas.

Your immersion is based upon your understanding of what dinos look like from pop culture, which is at best someone’s guess. The reality is it is anyone’s guess what colors dinosaurs were in nature.

Due to the fact that extinction is upon us, the arks are becoming unstable and creating weird and messed up creatures.
Resulting in the tek dinos and the weird colors.
