My Ragnarok World Seems To Be Deleting Itself
I was playing on the Ragnarok map in singleplayer and everything was fine. I closed the game because I needed to restart the computer, opened the game and - BOOM - everything has disappeared. All of the settings were set to default, mods removed, and most importantly, everything on the Ragnarok map has disappeared. Tames, items, buildings etc. Only my character remained, and the map is exactly the same, with the same lvl 55 red and white trike that I remembered seeing wandering around my base before this happened.

Fortunately, I had copied the latest Ragnarok.ark save from my Ragnarok files before opening the game - in case anything would happen (and it did). I pasted it into the Ragnarok saves file, deleted the current file and renamed it. I restored all of the settings in the Game and GameUserSettings files, added back the mods and launched the game. Same thing - my character was there but all of the stuff I had was gone.

So I repeated the process, tried using the backup file, and each time my character was in the game but my stuff was gone.

What I realised is that my Ragnarok.ark save has 58,186 KB when I paste it into the Ragnarok saves file. After opening and closing the map, this reduces to about 34 - 36,000 KB. What the hell?! So, the information for the content of the game is there in the Ragnarok file, but when I open the game it decides to delete about 20,000 odd KB from the file, so all of my buildings, items and dinos are erased!

Ark????????? Really??????????

I hope this is enough information and I would really appreciate it if someone finds a solution for this stupid problem. :steamsad:

Make redundant backups of your saves folders.

Like I said, I already have.

Use ASM to run a personal LAN server instead of single player mode. You will avoid all the longstanding SP bugs.
