Is your base in the swamp or redwoods?
If you move a wild out of it's original spawn zone, they will try to return inside the bounds of that spawn zone. If you leave render distance, they will despawn. The game is coded to despawn wild dinos outside their original spawn zone that are not being visually rendered by an active player.
You can tame the Achatina by making a Sweet Veggie Cake in a cooking pot. Put it in your hotbar slot 0, approach the Achatina and press 0 when you see the text about taming appear above it. It only takes one cake regardless of level. It's a one shot instant tame. Then you can continually harvest CP from it's inventory. They only eat Cake after taming, each cake is 500 food.
So a garden and bee hive first and sap taps.
Or a bear to farm honey.
Don't know if you play with mods, but s+ is great for picking up stuff for you.
Sap taps go on the redwood trees. There is an s+ version.
It's not just in the same biome. It has to be in the original spawn volume.
How big is a spawn volume you ask?
Well, The Island is 23 spawn volumes wide. This includes 2 "just ocean" volumes, one at each end.
This makes them about 3.6 GPS coordinates square. Not very big. Herbivore Island is about the size of a spawn volume. They have to be in their original volume or they despawn, not just in the swamp.
Snails are not a passive tame u have to ko them
And op beavers don’t give cp after taming the wild ones make dams that’s where u get paste
