Both linux and steam PC players should be able to connect.
Consoles are separate.
I do not know if we ever had anyone connecting with their PC using Linux, never asked.
Windows 10 and Xbox and
PC and Linux.
no other mix.
You're right, I misspoke I said I'd use ASM. Not the point though I'm trying to ask though.
Are you using the wine method, or the linux server method?
Really what I'm trying to figure out is if I host a server on linux, will it be a linux native server?
(Yes I know this isn't the case if I use Wine.)
Really can Windows players play with Linux players?
The rules are simple:
Any Steam version can be connected to by any Steam Version. (Regardless of OS).
Any Win10 Store version or XBox version can only be connected to via Win10 Store or Xbox
Any PS4 version can only be connected to by PS4
The important part here is what version you are running. Steam, Win10/Xbox, or PS4
Linux don't have separate servers. Linux players should be able to play on the official servers...You could always test this.
Perfect, thank you! This is what I wanted. It was driving me nuts trying to find references of and figure this out.
Well then fantastic! Setting up server tonight then
Your help and quick responses were much appreciated! Thank you!
