Snow Cave-PVE-- Most effective dino?
As you know snow cave is tough and unforgiving and extremely high level.Even if you tame a max lvl and breed it you still end up with dino of lower lvl than what you fight in the snow cave. So what do you take?

what single dino have you found that can do good against the insane lvls and amounts of dinos in there and still be able to move around the entire place?

I'm thinking of breeding thylas and simply pick and choose my battles. I figure the super high jumps and climbing ability will come in handy for moving around the entire place and in picking fights against everything except the bats.

had anybody found that 1 dino that can just rule the place? and by 1, i mean without the need to go in there with an army of that dino.

Grenades help. Lots of grenades.

grenades do almost no damage to dinos. I have an ascendant compound that hits for over 1k a hit. but i can only use it if i hang from the ceiling to shoot. Looking for a dino that can handle the place so i don't have to waste metal arrows, or at least minimally.

my server is set to max lvl 200, so some of the dinos in there are lvl 450+

Hatch some allos in there, they work pretty well in a pack.
I don't think you'll be able to get 1 single dino that can go in alone and kill everything in there and fit through the tunnels.
You could grow a rex in every chamber of the cave, but that would get... difficult to do the further you go in the cave.
If you can do the whole cave at nighttime, megalos might work.
Can theris fit through all the tunnels? If they can, they might do well.

Actually, you might be able to grow a stego or a trike or something else with a high knockback and cheese the cave with just that, but I'm not really sure how well that would work out.

Also, grenades are helpful because they let you uproot purlovias before going near them so they can't stun you.
All explosives can do this, but grenades are a lot less expensive than rocket launchers, and good luck getting c4 at one without it attacking you first.

See a lot of people say that about grenades, but I’ve found grenades to be very effective against crowds of creepy crawlies bunched together in caves. It seems unlikely but maybe creepy crawlies got coded differently. I dunno. I just know that my experience hasn’t been consistent with conventional wisdom in this area.

Have you tried using a long rifle to pull single Dinos from extended range and then switch to your ascendant compound as they close?

When I cleared it I used a turent and batterys heavy with bear traps and spikes graple compound bow 50 med brews, and other brews, and custom food (you could clear it with catus broth and a gillie suit unharmed but I assume you wish to build there)

i'll do the grenades to bust out the purlovias. as for the rest. I'm not in a cluster so cactus broth is a no go.Puling singles is a no go in that place, its always 2-5 at a time and when they are 450+ thats probably 10k health a mob.

i think the purlovias are the biggest annoyance there so i will try grenades to get them out of their holes. The rest are just time consuming due to their high health. I do breed allos so ill try growing 3 there and see how they do. I haven't made it past the second room yet so i don't know the layout of the rest of the cave. But on videos i have seen areas that require jumps.

i'm not focused on building or breeding in there. I just want an efficient way to get the place done. I have figured out all other caves except for this one. Even the "hard" water cave is just an easy run now with just 1 dino to take.

I've cleared the snow cave with a pack of dimorphodons and some guns. Take some good armour and lots of ammo and good level dimos and you can get through it pretty easily.

There are no required jumps, but there are some places where you need to jump a bit to get some drops. You can skip those parts though and just walk through.
Just make sure you get the mate boost on your 2 allos and you should be good.

we tried that,4 of us with shotguns and 30+ lvl 350 bred dimorphs with over 5k health each...they all died to the bear swipes in 10 mintes.

Oh you know what, I haven't done it since they added the bears. I forgot that they were added to that cave. Well that sucks.

breed a pack of Dimorphodons and hangle yourself on a ceiling. dimos can be leveled on speed, they might so some bigger circles..? the bears really make me think about my fav dino oO i mean, dimos can bring down even spinos with way higher level

Side note when riding a theri the prulovia and wolf ignore you, so if you have good theri's you could also use that, it has the benefit of having cake healing ;)
Yea a theri with cakes could probably do it solo but I'm not sure if it'll fit well.
