Not registering hits

Been playing for a VERY long time, almost 3k hours. I usually host my own server and play with friends and family on PVE.

Why do arrows, rocks, etc hit their targets, according to the client, but the damage numbers don't show. I'm guessing the server doesn't register the hit. This happens SOOO often it's down right frustrating.. Any suggestions? Fast server with a ping of 10..

Show's the damage maybe 50% of the time.

It still is a lag issue i guess.

on the server cluster, when there is a lot of people online, we have the same problem, we have to predict the course the dino will take to hit it with tranqs for instance ;)

Yeah I figured it was but don't think it should be happening with this setup. I have hosted tons of other games on this same computer and have 0 issues. Just seems terrible with ark.

Its a known issue that the devs I believe have stated is partially intentional due to data crunching by the game. I believe this was brought up back during the turret controversies/changes that had to be implemented last year.

You just have to roll with it and adjust your game play accordingly.

I frequently have to wait for my firearm to reload.... sometimes it goes through the animation without reloading.... same thing as this really.
