Will my PC work?
I have a intel i7 3770 quad core (3.40ghz)CPU, 8gb RAM, AMD Radeon HD 7800 series (probably a 7850) 2gb Direct X 11.2 GPU. Will that be suficent enough to run ARK and its DLCs?

No:

OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 670 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or better
DirectX: Version 10
Storage: 60 GB available space

Ark is one of the most demanding games out on the market at the moment on rigs. Attempting to play the game on a rig that is below, at, or only a sliver above the min requirements is almost certainly guaranteeing you'll be back here on the forums complaining that either you cant play it or crashes alot etc as we see almost daily on here from people who made similar mistakes(and or also attempting to play the game on settings meant for top end rigs).

If you want to play the game meaningfully with decent graphics and performance you need to get an exceedingly better rig.

When looking it up on google it said I at minimum needed a GPU that is compatible with Direct X 10 and has 1gb of vram, a CPU that has quad cores and runs at least 2.0 ghz, and 4gb of ram. I guess steam's specs for the game are probably correct. So I guess I'll be building a PC that can play ARK then. Because I can't upgrade my CPU anymore on my current Motherboard. That's why I was trying to make sure which specs were the most accurate. Thanks though.

Try it and you can probably play it on low settings.

Currently I'm playing ark on default settings with an Intel Q6600 quad core (2.40ghz) CPU with 8GB RAM.

Using a Nvidia Geforce GTX 660.

So far it is pretty smooth for me, the only thing I don't like is the long loading, normally takes like 5-10 mins to load up 10 mods to get into the server. Though I am using a high speed internet 400 Mbps download and 12 Mbps upload. So maybe that is helping me not to lag out as much.

Yeah I'll probably get it anyway and eventually build a new rig to handle it better in the future or at least as I can afford the components lol. Thanks.

Im just saying caveat emptor per the constant flow of people who ignore it attempting to fit a square peg in a round hole and then wondering why their fps, graphic fidelity, crashing etc all are issues. Time and time again this is seen so simply attempting to warn you is all that was done.

Here's an article from last year on how demanding Ark is to give you a better idea:

Your playing below the min reqs is your choice but again and again when people come here throwing out UE4 error code dumps or bad fps or dissatisfied with bad graphics etc not uncommonly its because of square pegging as you're doing. Its a forum rant looking for a place to happen.

As for mod loading, that has nothing to do with the stats you list and everything to do with the fact that you're playing ark on an HDD and not an SSD. Same on an SSD would take a min or so to load the mods.

Well I'm just trying to play without having to build a completely new rig 1st. If I can get away with just upgrading the GPU a bit I'll do it but if the CPU won't cut it then we have a problem lol.

I played with a 1st gen i5, 8GB Ram and a 1GB 550ti. Low settings and ugly af but it was perfectly playable.

The CPU is fine, despite getting older. I can run ARK (albeit not a heavily modded ARK game) on my old i7-860 @ 2.8Ghz. Your issue, is mostly the GPU and the RAM. If you'd pair your i7 with a 970/980, 1050ti / 1060(6gb) or higher, and increased your RAM to 16GB, the game would run well enough to get 30FPS on Medium settings.

Some people I play with still have i7-xxx to i7-4xxx and play ARK just fine on our server with 12-15 mods per clustered map (4 map cluster).

I mean, I currently play on a 4 year-old Alienware m17 laptop, with the following:

CPU: i7-4700MQ @ 2.4Ghz (OC'd to 3.3 currently)
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
GPU: GTX 765m 2GB

Sure, it plays mostly on low, except for textures at Medium, PP and View Distance at Medium as well, and High Quality VFX / Materials ticked on, most of the rest is ticked off. I get, 18-30 FPS in my CKF-built base with 200+ tames on Ragnarok, 30-40FPS in the wild. AB is where ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan - unless I do r.shadowquality 0 in the console, I get a laggy 10-15 FPS, but with that command I jump to a "semi-fluid" 18-25 FPS.

I know others might come in and tell me I know ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, or that I'm advertising false hope, but whatever.

I understand your wants but Im warning you simply that its not necessarily going to match the reality of the situation and again encourage you to sift through the pages upon pages of people complaining about not being able to play and turning out that they were attempting to use potato comps to do so. CPU is alright but the lack of a viable gpu and decent ram is what is going to be your main issues.

As long as you're an informed consumer, its your choice as to whether you make a sound decision or not. In the end, you're the only one to be held accountable afterall.

Cool that makes me feel a bit better. I ain't going for perfection out of the gate I know it's going to look like crap until I can get better upgrades. I just want to play it when I get it. Thanks.

Honest, I played it on my 6 year old laptop. Had a 3rd gen i7 and a GT 650m graphics card with 8gb of ram. There are so many graphics settings in ark you can tweak until your PC is able to run it. You may have to scale down the resolution and do a couple of medium/low settings but if al your looking for is a playable experience and not a cinnamatic jaw dropping visual experience, you should be fine. Just know it wont look as good as the pictures and your computer is gonna be working hard and a bit hot :P

My wife's rig is an i7 860 with a GTX 580 1.5gig and 8gig ram and it runs great at high with the exception of textures set to minimum due to lack of vram. You do need a new GPU but otherwise you're fine. Don't get cpu envy. ;)
