Need Ideas for PvE Cluster Events

Looking for a few good ideas for PvE Cluster.

Something the players would enjoy.

What ideas do you have?

Scavenger hunt are really fun. Have the admins hide boxes. And have players take screenshot to prove they found them.

The prizes would be upto you.

Other ideas. Mazes. Frog races.

If you use simple spawners mod, you could do arena battles.

You could try the call of the wild mod. Make teams and see who can survive to the highest wave.

Just wanted to say Thanks again, we took the Frog Race and Scavenger hunt idea and they players loved them, so we made a video for the frog races to hype it up and several shots of the event type posters.

Glad you had fun with your events. I can tell you on my cluster we've had some fun with:

Underwater 3d maze (made out of vacuum cubes) - this one was a huge hit
Trivia games
Scavenger Hunts
Fun games, like one based on the card game "Dirty Minds"

I did this one on official server once...

Build a simple arena that has 3 wild animal traps with doors into the arena. Whoever wants to be part merely has to enter arena weaponless and no armor--naked basically. Open doors one at a time from least to greatest wild animal caught for survivors to kill/survive from (like door 1: dilos, 2: sabers, 3: allosaurus) and watch them run. Whoever lasts the longest gets a free tame (ex: rex, or even giga--possibly smaller runner up prizes to 2nd and 3rd places, door prizes, etc). Add some obstacles/cover made of thatch in arena--maybe a ladder too--that are almost broken so 1 swipe of a wild animal will break it. Some guy even built a food stand nearby and started selling kibbles, food, etc to others while there for ingots.

So fun!

As a prize for winning, Tell The Winner: Choose This Prize Right here or Choose Between THESE 3 Doors: take them to the 3 doors, where they can choose their prize (1 Door and what is behind it).

1 Door has a Large Prize, 2nd Door may have some medium Prize , 3rd Door houses a Wild Dino on Aggresive.

I like the idea of a twist ending, what do you think of this?

Foot races around the map. takes very little preparation.
Go to a beach and plop down 2 flags to form a start/finish line.
Runners empty their inventories and hot bars... completely... and strip down to underwear.
If you want, have them take a mindwipe and reset their stats however they feel best... Speed? Stamina? Food/Water? Health?
For the race, each contestant has to circumnavigate the map staying on the beaches. Some go in one direction, some go the opposite way.
Rules are:
1) Stay on the beach. No shortcuts. You can go inland only enough to get past cliffs, etc. You can go only far enough upstream on a river bay so you can swim across.
2) Figure out an inland course acceptable to bypass frozen areas.. no one will be able to make fur armor.
3. No building, so no beds. You have to rely on single use sleeping bags.
4) No rafts.
5) No flyers.
6) First one back across the finish line wins.

Do you stop and make armor? or keep running.
Do you make tools and weapons? or keep running?
Do you stop to cook meat or rely on berries? Do you gave enough health?
Do you waste time trying to tame a ground mount? (history shows this will lose)

I strongly suggest each runner early on take the time to kill Dinos and make sleeping bags... lots of sleeping bags.... and drop them occassionaly so as not to have to start over back at the beginning when they die!!!

The Island takes about 45 minutes depending on how many times you speed run off a cliff or get eaten when out of stamina.

and take the time to cook some meat. It does help.
