Smithy and other crafting devices not working in creative mode

I was able to craft items in the smithy and fabricator not long ago. They won't respond to crafting now, as resources not required. My character's personal crafting still crafts without necessary inventory in creative mode. (Yes, I turned the Fabricator on).

Has there been some change to creative mode that removes the ability to make a sword or ax in creative mode?

Everything is craftable in your inventory on Creative mode, no need for a smithy or fab

even tho this is old, i come across the problem that everything i craft will not add to the inventory. It makes crafting sounds and counts down the number of items, but nothing adds
