How do I level bulbdogs and other passive/shoulder dinos?

I'm not sure how to actively, efficiently level them.

I use bulbdogs as an example because I want to powerlevel it to raise it's emission range, capacity and charge regen, but I'm sure some other shoulder-ridden dinos have usefulness to them as well and would like to know leveling methods that work for them all. Plea

I usually carry them when going on food runs. Since I have Rexes, Alpha Raptors, Carnos and other big dinos (thus higher XP than Dodos) near my base, they get levels quite fast. If you have a tame that can tank and destroy Alpha Raptors / Carnos - go for those. I even level up my Rexes that way - killing a level 40 Alpha Raptor for example, can usually give about 8-10 levels all by itself (modded rates on a modded server, of course, not too OP @ 4x).

Other than that... capture tons of passive dinos like dodos, place them in a pen and have your Bulbdog or Shinehorn attack them (or set to aggressive). Might be much slower though and needs you to be proactive in replenishing the pen every few minutes.
