In return the Arthropluera has a significantly increased damage it takes from explosives and turrets etc.
So increase your defenses I guess.
How much dmg does a Giga do to stone foundations ?
Having a small metal base was usually the first step, and no one would try to spend C4 to raid such a base with probably a very low or even negative effort/reward ratio.
But that changes obviously now.
So, two more dinos needed, or modify two of the existing dinos. First: an untameable "Pillar Eater". An active surface dino that can and will attack structures without being agroed first. Very low HP so minor base defenses can keep them at bay around bases, but they naturally over time clear the pillar spam, left over spikes, odd campfires and torches, etc out in the wild.
Second: a "Pillar Protector". Either a tameable dino that eats the "Pillar Eaters" but doesn't attack humans or tames, or some resource such as bug repellent that decays but can be scattered on the ground to repell the Pillar Eaters.
You want to pillar to protect resources?... tame some of the second dinos and keep them around your pillars at the resources. or scatter the reppellent in the area. Got to put in the effort to protect those pillars, so get up there and feed/tend/replace the Pillar Protectors. Because of the work involved it will limit the areas tribes are willing to pillar. And if someone does pillar an area, it can be naturally cleared over time.
Nature (game mechanics) solves the problem. Now instead of the pillar tribe just doing a flyby to keep the pillars active, other players can just do a flyby to render in the Pillar Eaters.
Design the game to fix game problems.
