how to best start Aberration
So, I started on the island and spent there most of my playtime. Then for every other map I was always just uploading my character and downloading it on the new island. I was usually uploading with me several items to have a quick start, like all the necessary to build up a metal-tier electricity/industrial base, along with some of the most rare resources. When the 50 slots were not enough, I was just bringing with me also a tek transmitter that I was building in my base so that I could go up and down the maps and bring more stuff from the island, where I have tons of everything. Now, as far as I understood this is not so trivial on aberration? beacons (from where to pick up the transmitter) are on the surfaca that is way dangarous for a naked man...advices?

There are beacons everywhere, it's just that they look a bit different (More like cave loot).
However, getting access to them is slightly more annoying than on other maps as you are very limited with your vision and have to rely on luck or camping one spot until it spawns.
I would advise the mushroom forest near the East Surface entrance, you can see a bunch of them from either side of that little forest. There should be at least 5 beacon spawn in this area.

But I think in Singple Player you can upload/download only from the obelisks? SOrry I made confusion before with beacons...

Well, it's not that hard if you know what you do with a ravager, some zipline and a light pet to go to the obelisk and back. (Don't fight reapers, kill seekers with light off.) OR you build a ramp a bring up there a good megalosaur and you can just kill your way to the obelisk. At night, obviously.

Or you can farm element to make a replicator in the beacons, then make a transmitter, but this one takes more time as you would need to be able to farm red gems, might as well upload a transmitter, then go to an obelisk to pick it up and then bring it back.

Or you can go up there on Rock Drake, but you might as well farm element at this point.

No you can up/download from beacons as well in single player as long as you have up/download enabled in the single player settings..

Best way to start aberration is to go punch an bulbdog in the face and then commit sepaku by punching a Basilisk in the face to prove your a real man!

yep, ok, so I have undergone the preparations...still had to go trough the initial steps up to metal gear and get to tame the ravager....next night I'll try to go till the obalisk and back with it...do ravagers follow me till the obelisk? how to turn light on/off of the shoulder pet without dismounting it? Is there a rapid command?
Paroxyde Jun 28, 2018 @ 1:26am
Well, naked is fine, no need of metal gear beside a pickaxe, the crossbow and the ziplines. The ravager is mostly for climbing the zipline and run to obelisk.
Try to go on a 90% night 10% day to have plenty of time.
In keybindings, there is a key for emote 1 and 2, bind one of those to an easy to access key, hold this key, hover your mouse to "lighten up" emote, then you should see the key written as such [key], i.e: if it's 0 they it will be written [num pad 0]. Then afterward, any tap (not hold) on the 0 key will play the emote to turn on/off the light (only worsk on the pet you have on your shoulder.

Disaster...the reapers chase me until the obelisk, and kill my tame in a few hits...delivering 250 magame per hit each, even with 2500 health it takes 3 hits in 4 reapers...any way to identify their location and avoid to aggro them?
KitsuneShiro Jun 28, 2018 @ 4:13am
The shoulder pets give alerts for high level creatures. Not sure that would help with reapers.

ok, I was able to make it...looks like that if you hurry and walk in the center of the road the whole surface will come after you...instead if you walk by hugging the wall on a side nobody cares...and the reaper kings, if they aggro, it's useless to run as fast as possible trying to get as far as possible. as they are faster, but you hide 1 meter away behind a rock wall then they de-aggro :P

speed ravager out run them pretty easily.
And 250??? Did you change your resistance? They do like 30-50 on mine, I don't know exactly as I'm on official.

Rock drakes get all fluffy when reapers are around.

I am using the standard SP settings...using standard ravager with no speed increase...I don;t know if is they keep peace with me, or just attracting new ones, just now I got hit several times along the way and at the obelisk I had 4 of them aggroed

Ravagers are not flyers, you can increase speed.
