JSON Error
I am getting the INVALID JSON TOKEN ERROR Line:1 Ch:1 error that I have gotten in the past.

Here is what I have done so far -
Changed resolution to lower settings - didn't fix it
updated video driver - didn't fix it
changed resolution again to lower settings - didn't fix it
Uninstalled the game, deleted the Ark folders on my pc and reinstalled it - didn't fix it.
Repeated steps above - didn't fix it.

Unistalled it again, deleted Ark folders and then reinstalled it to another directory - didn't fix it.
Changed resolution - didn't fix it.
Tried it in Window mode - didn't fix it.

What do I have to do to get this thing running properly without issues? My hardware is more than adequate:

i7-4790K
32GB DDR-3 RAM
nVidia 980m video card
512 GB Samsung M.2 NVME SSD
2x 2TB drives

(Yes, it is a laptop. Clevo P770ZM-G)

This issue is with Ark and no other game. I have plenty of other games on my system that have similar hardware requirements and haven't had an issue with JSON errors.

Studio Wildcard FIX THIS! It is something I have suffered from before and it is back again. My wife whom uses a different system has had this develop in the past but the above attempted fixed her system (desktop HP Omen).

An actual view of the crash log would be helpful. Is this unofficial or official? If unofficial, what mods are you using, and does it work without any mods?

Which log files do you want? It happens on both Official AND Unofficial servers, with and without mods.

I have a private server it happens on. My son, his GF and my wife all are on it with the same mods as me and they are not getting JSON Errors.

No, I am not using ACM. IF I use admin commands, I use the normal command lines available with the tab key in game.

I get the same error, however I get it both in game and at the main menu.

might try uninstalling BattleEye and re-installing it (right-click on Ark in steam library). Saw a couple posts where this did the trick... easy enough and worth a shot.

This is the error in Windows 10 that gives the error - the permission changes allows more than 1 app to use internet at a time and well makes that error dissapear in time...

had the same issue. turns out my ISP changed my network protocol to IPv6. I had them change it back to IPv4 and it solved both the JSON error and a connection issue to a private server.
