Rock drakes underpowered?
Is it just me or is the rock drake too underpowered? It's a rather difficult task to get an egg, which I have done so legitimately numerous times, but after getting the eggs and hatching the rock drakes, I'm under the impression they are quite squishy and really not a great dino to go into the cavern with to find reaper queens. I still really believe the megalosaurus is the best beast for the cave, not a rock drake. Rock drakes are just wimpy. Even at higher levels (50-60, I'm not playing on a high level server). What does everyone else think? Rock drakes underpowered?

ehhh... I'm staring at a rock drake right now with 700 melee and 12k health and an ascendant saddle. 100% imprint. This thing don't care about whatever might hit it. Hatched a 185.

The rock drake is super mobile. So its not meant to be super tanky.

I think its stats are decent enough

Jason, I don't see those kind of numbers on my server. We don't have jacked up anything. My 60th level drake has about 3500 health and just over 100 melee. Quite squishy.

Drath...yeah, I'm thinking that's it's real benefit, to get around fast and quick and not fight.

We dont have anything jacked either, it's an official server running official rules. PVE number 268 come drop by some time.

maybe its just me being unlucky with the eggs i collected, but while we are at stats, improvements and mobility i would think a bit more stamina would make the Drake much better, here they're constantly running out while gliding/climbing...

Jason, any idea what level eggs you guys get on your server? Highest I've seen is 50. Max might be 65? I realize I just got my first egg last weekend, but I wonder how long it took to level that drake with those stats. It would take me a few years on my server.

Max level drake egg reported in global chat as well as that server's player run discord channel, is a 190. My personal drake is a 165. Hatched 7k health, 1.6k stam, 6k food, 270 melee.

Well, maybe I just need to get down in the cave more and find a better egg....

During the catastrophe where eggs were spawning under nests, we had a glitched nest at the very back of the drake cave that was still functioning. During that time we learned that the nests pull stats from living drakes spawned in, in that area, so we kited a 190 wild closeby and built a trap around it, voila, 190 eggs started popping out with an occasional 95 or a 130 as other drakes wandered by. Every 190 that came out of that nest was a perfect clone of eachother other than gender. same stats, same colors. Could hatch male or female.

*nice spawning technique*
Clever idea! You happen to know if it would it be the same for Wyverns and their nests?

That's cool, good research.

No clue, though I've had a hunch about that being the case for quite some time, flying thru the wyvern trench I tended to notice "parents" hanging around or landing in nests with an egg of that species, making me believe this to be the case, though there are so many wyverns and they move so much it's hard to tell.

Wyverns use the exact same spawning method. So it would. If you could trap a Wyvern near a nest and keep others away

Nice2know, thx for confirming, now lets see how we get one to hold still long enought... oh, and sry for derailing the topic :funnyfoxy:

hmmm our private server has the difficulty setting low, so I think high level drakes are 50-60 on ours. Squishy server.
