BattleEye persistantly trying to Install
Greetings fellow Survivors!

I have been playing Ark without issues for the past few weeks with my husband and a few friends tho sharing my time between Singleplayer on The Ragnarok and Multiplayer with them on The Isle.

For some reason today when atempting to get back into my SinglePlayer game, this annoying BattleEye pop up comes and knocks me out of the game asking to install it. Even marking the "Do not Ask me Again" button, it continues to appear and even when i open the game in the "Without Battleye" mode, it still pops up.

Installing it might solve the problem? Yes but i really dont feel the need for it, its not that i dont trust the software, its that i just dont have use for it on my PC for now since i dont play in other servers than my own with a select group of friends.

Thanks for sharing that topic. Tho now i decided to install BattleEye just for the sake of playing for now but the game continues to not allow me to play and keeps closing and poping back to windows even without showing the installation window for BattleEye.

Try running as administrator.

In the linked thread I posted my solution for the problem, I hope it helps you guys too! Cheers! :)

"I've found a solution: delete the game and all config files and make a new, clean installation. It worked like a charm.

Fun fact tho: I had a folder from "The Center", what just contained 3 files (to fix the rainbow water effect with S+) and when I copied it over, I had the exact same problem! So now I either download the whole Center map or live with the rainbow water. :D

Suggestion: maybe you don't even necessarily have to reinstall the game, just uncheck the DLS's, delete everything from your mod folder and download all DLC's, maps and mods again. I hope it works out for you guys too! Good luck! :)

Edit: confirmed from a friend, just cleaned up these 3 files and the game runs without problems!"

This is a Steam environment issue. I have a friend that has the same issue only when using the desktop shortcut, but it work fine launching Ark from within Steam.

This started since the new interface was released.

Doesn't work for me. I tried starting it without battleye (unofficial only) and it still doesn't work
I've tried everything at this point, uninstalling battleye, reinstalling ark 3 times all the solutions in this thread, nothing works for me. It's just my luck, every time i run into an issue with my pc it always feels like it's way worse than any other person ever had it before. for example i have an issue with my audio, it's just something with the driver routine not installing/updating but for some reason it is literally impossible to fix

I managed to fix this for myself and on another rig. Seems like the devs dropped the ball on checking for old files which aren't in use anymore but can cause the game to act up. So here's what I did:

Search for a file named BiomesWall. Once you find it, check in the folder and look (sort by date) for files from previous installations. In my case, I found 2 more. Delete these files and look for stragglers, there might be another old file (mine dated back to 2016). In steam, run a verification of game files and you should be good to go. No more BE looping.

I hope this helps and Wildcard, shame on you for not cleaning up the folders from update to update.

Hello, where have you found this file BiomesWall exactly ?

Actually it seems I may not have this file as I recently reinstalled Ark after three years and I validated, I try join server and I the game quits and ask to install battleye but have it still does this, this problem needs to be heard more as this only one of the very few post I find on such problem

It's located in the game's directory, I should have provided a more precise way to find these files. Here is where I found mine:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\SeekFreeContent\Maps\TheIslandSubMaps

There were 3 files, including the file I've mentionned (biomeswalls) which dated back to 2016 (which was a period where the game was still in early access), I had tried everything to get the game running on 2 PC's that were going through the Battleye Loop and this was the only way to get the game going. I hope this helps, good luck!

When you say all config files do you just mean delete the Ark folder? Delete the whole game through steam? Right click Ark > Uninstall?

If it helps, I found that I can run the game in "No sky effects" mode without the battle eye popup. That's what I'm doing for now until I find a fix
Claus Nov 19, 2019 @ 7:17am
If you run Ark without Battleye it should never ask to install period, if play on a server with battleye then your only option is to install it or ask your friends to remove battleye from their unofficial server, they have no need for anticheat anyway if its a private server.
