If you play sp or unofficial, I recommend using the S+ mod as their tek tier is 1000x better than the tek tier in vanilla. Especially for cost to maintain.
If you have anymore questions don't hesitate to ask ^-^
Along with earning the Tekgrams, you can also get element from the bosses, which is used to make and power all things TEK. You cannot use TEK without knowing the Tekgram, so people can't just give it to you.
Basic Gear
TEK Chestpiece: Alpha mode Dragon
TEK Gauntlets: Gamma Megapithicus or Manticore
TEK Leggings: Gamma Dragon or Manticore
TEK Boots: Beta Broodmother
TEK Helmet: Alpha Broodmother
TEK Rifle: Beta Megapithicus or Manticore
Other bautounlockengrams=True
Every time you level up it unlocks all engrams at that level. Very good for dealing with tek tier and engram requirements for lots of mods
In situations like that I'll farm a chunk of element and then spawn in the rest.. single player is my preference but a lot of items have absurd requirements since they are often balanced around multiplayer and having 30+ people contributing materials to make them.. I have no idea why the developers didn't scale down the recipe requirements for some things in single player.. for us to make things like cloning chambers.. industrial forges and chemistry stations it's a royal pain in the behind to farm the metal and other items needed to do it.. specially if you are playing without modifying player and dino stat values..
Good luck farming 5000+ metal ingots when your Ankylo can only carry about 600 weight and it takes you about 12 minutes to run to the nearest metal ore deposits XD
I love ARK but that's royally taking the p*** lol
I don't feel guilty about maxing out the carry weight stats at all.. not when those items demand such absurd amounts of resources to make.. sure that several thousand weight number maybe a little extreme but it's either that or spend literally weeks smacking rocks and running back and fore your base.
Edit: I just want to be very clear that I'm not against adjusting to make the game more enjoyable, just stating that it doesn't HAVE to be adjusted if you don't mind the time sheet prepping. Of course this doesn't apply to element really, but for the others.
