How to roll back singleplayer save?

for some reason s+ wasnt in my mod list and i lost everything except my dinos. is there a way to have the singleplayer world rol back to the last time i played it?

Yes, go into your singleplayer files and rename it.

Go to wherever you save ark like this:

D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam Games\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved

Find the map: RagnarokSavedArksLocal (or whatever map you are using)

Your save looks like this: Ragnarok.ark <--- rename this to Ragnarok.arkold

Your backup saves look like this Ragnarok_01.02.2018_03.48.05.ark <-- rename this to Ragnarok.ark.

Restart the game and you should be good to go. Make sure you find a save that is before the S+ update. Next time wait for S+ to fully upgrade before starting your singleplayer game and this won't happen again.

Thank you so much AnniO! I happened to come across this after messing with the game trying to optimize my framerate and completely nuked my save my GF and I have been playing for dozens of hours after forgetting to check if the mods we use were enabled. You literally saved our world and I can't thank you enough!

Thank you! I recently tried to tame something and ended up murdering my precious pterodactyls in the process, Im new at this (old ios player recently moved to pc) so losing them was heartbreaking, I was able to jump back to my older save (which was yesterday) which pulled me back to when I was taming my highest level Pterodon, thank you so much! I know it seems stupid but god im a whimp

I have the exact same issue. managed to restore my world but it appears the character is stored/saved elsewhere.

Apparently you do not have the "exact same issue" in fact it is nothing at all like the op's issue. If you have a problem, start your own thread and describe exactly what happened and you might get help, or you might get bad news. But at least you will have a chance.

Sorry for bringing this back, as well but. This indeed works. The files with the dates are Autosaves, that Ark gently holds for you, to be a back-up save.
If you know this information, you can use it to get back your stuff.
I fell asleep in front of my comp, and my character probably starved, as I forgot to pause the game.
All the items that were on my survivor, just gone, the bag expired, nothing remained, 2 gigantic armies, mutation stacks, ascended tools.
I renamed yesterday's save, loaded the game back in and I've got everything again.
So Yea, thank you, this is definetly a helpful thingy.
Tho, I will still make sure to back-up save my entire map to a harddrive XD

I think i did this wrong because its sent my game back to the start, my map is the island, I did it to theilsiand.arkold but the map waypooints are still there but my building and everything is gone,

The giant chicken dinosuar came and ffd my dinos up, I had a unicorn so i tried to delted the recent saves but restored them after seeing it didnt do anythign and now i did this thing and I dont knpow what to do
