Use steamid to allow access to the server, whitelist request
Hello,
Ark has different definitions for whitelisting.

The type of whitelist I'm seeking is inputing a steamID, and allowing them to the server.

I have a password, but I do not want people sharing the password and letting people in.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Add -exclusivejoin to your command line

then under ShooterGame/Binaries/Win64
add the text file named PlayersExclusiveJoinList

Paste steam64ID in this text file on seperate lines.

If you dont trust your players to not hand out the server password.... you sure as hell dont want to whitelist them.

The whitelist allows players to use console commands without needing to enable cheats with the Admin password.

This is untrue. There are 4 diff connections permissions

Exclusive join = checks steam64ID only allows listed to connect

Playernocheck = what ark admin manager calls whitelist, allows players connect priority if a server is full.

Allowedcheatersteamid = grants connecting player admin without password

Ban list = self explanatory

A lot of times when I searched for it, files are names PlayerExclusiveJoinList.txt, Should I try naming it with the extension? It doesn't seem to work.

wow this is an old necro lol

I don't think it will work on non dedicated servers- in non-dedicated means the game handles the launch so there is no command launch line to edit.

command line is what the game server startup script for the server looks like

EXAMPLE
start ShooterGameServer "TheIsland?SessionName=TestServer?QueryPort=27015?ServerPassword=CHOOSEAPASSWORDHERE?ServerAdminPassword=CHOOSEANADMINAPASSWORDHERE?listen" exit

Hahaha yea I found the thread and thought I should give it a try. But it seems like you're right, it's only for dedicated.
Thanks anyway!
