Dung Beetles on Ragnarok
For some reason I can't get any dung beetle to make oil and fertaliser from any sized poop in the game. I've tamed a couple and it didn't work aswell as spawning some in, punching, unclaimimg, empty inventory, disable wandering and dropping it from the top of the world. Nothing I've done has changed anything and I've ran out of ideas on how to get them to work. I'm not sure if it is a problem with ragnarok as I've never had the extent of problems with them before I tried this map.

Disable Wandering, Take out what is in inventory of dung beetle
Enable wandering again, Put poop in inventory. make sure it is not overweight.

You can only fill them to about 60% I've found, or they get overloaded and stop producing fert.

Oh, and we have 4 that are working good on Ragnarok as does others on the map. As long as we keep them 60% or lower.

I tried that and left it for many hours and still has the stack of large poop in there :/

I'll try just one small poop and see if that works.

are you using a stack mod? or any mod that changes poop? or one that changes dino spawns could also be to blame

Stack mods dont work well with old tames, use new tames (like nollas said) and if u fill it up untill he cant move anymore, he dont produce oil / fert, he must able to move around to produce it :)

I've adjusted the weight per level slightly so they get a little more weight when I take them but that's about all I can think would affect it :/ I have no mods that interfere with spawns or poop.

I don't have any issues on my non dedicated rag save. I fill them up with as much as they can carry and it works great. I don't even have to reset them ever as well. This is a vanilla playthrough BTW.

If you have a mod that allows you to stack poop, you have a mod that interferes with poop. That is probably the culprit.

Just because the mod doesn't directly modify poop, does not mean it can't interfere. Make a backup, and test your save with no mods.

Stacking mods will cause the poop to not get processed by the beetles as the stack mod ID's wont get recognized by the beetles for processing.

Luckily this issue AND most other issues with the beetles has a work around that also is much better.

Eco's Scorched earth decor mod has a SE Crafting Cabin. In the cabin you can craft an outhouse.

Said outhouse works -eactly- the same as a beetle processing poop to fert and oil BUT:

1. Its 2x faster.
2. It can process stacked poop.

1 or 2 outhouses and with stacked poop and you'll be inundated with fert and have decent amounts of oil.

weve had problems with the beetles indoors. They wont produce. Inside a greenhouse(or S+ glass buildings) they will, or up on a roof inside wooden cages they will.

I guess they need to see the sun, clouds, and whatnot :steamfacepalm:

My beetles produce just fine in a fully enclosed stone room.

Poop placed inside the dung beetle are stacking although i dont remember it doing so previously when i was last playing on the island. Did they update it so poop stacks now or is it the work of a mod?
