Best Aberration Dino?
I mean I know Stone Drake and Reapers stand up there pretty high but me and my friends are JUST getting into it we don't have the stuff to go hunting Drakes and Reapers yet so whats the next best dino other than ravagers?

I know Ravagers are good at scouting but their damage really lacks unless you get a big pack of them and the AI is kinda terible we just want 3 dinos that we can all hop on and ride around and not worry about stuff murdering us.

Megalosaurus. Spinos are good now that they've got the TLC, although not sure if they still take radiation damage or not.

Personally I give a thumbs up to the Ark devs, because they made very good, unique and creative dinos for aberration. Basically all of them have their use, even at late game, they are not just pointless dinos like the original ones (lots of them useless).

My favorite is the karkinos, due its "industrial" usage. Good mobility, good weight, unique combat system and indeed the farming capability. Well, in real ark my favorite tame was the Quetz, so maybe thats why Karkinos is my no1.

The second one is the ravager - my first ravager changed the gameplay a lot - it unlocked lots of exploration options due its zipline climbing ability - and hey, its AI is brilliant, a following ravager can really follow me through ziplines and obstacles. Not to mention its transpor capability, excellent weight with weight reduction on every raw material. Its just great when we need to farm.

The third one is the drake - indeed, the flying mechanic another huge leap in the world of aberration.

Then the megalo - its not new, but there it is the REX alternative, and a VERY GOOD substitute of it. Small, very mobile and just as strong as the good old rex.

Funny enough, for me the reaper and the basilisk fall in the "useles" category. Ok the reaper is strong, but overall Idont need stronger tame than a good megalo - and the megalo is easier to tame, breedable, so I can "make" as much as I need. Its only extra is the jump ability, thats invaluable in the red zone - but it does not worth the hassle for me to get a high level one.
The basilisk - well, I still dont know what I should use that. "Accidentally" tamed one, but it is just standing idly in its garage. Its not good in combat, it doesnt seem to have industrial value - apart from being a hidden vault.

Drakes drive me insane. Ravegers spinos raptors are the main ones we use.

Karkinos. Fun, weight, damage, unique mechanics and the ability to carry most small animals make a nice multipurpose mount.

Karkinos, Rock Drake and Spino. Karkinos is your taming/exploration creature with it's jump and grab mechanics. Rock drake is for some caves, exploring the surface for drops and generally getting around anywhere. Spino is your muscle. With the lack of a t-rex or giga, it does the job very, very well. Especially after the tlc update.

All of those you are mostly ignored when riding.

Honestly, if you're just starting out, nothing beats a good bear. Easily led into traps, and there are quite a few that spawn near the starting zones. With the right taming pen, you can tame one with no risk to yourself. The saddle won't be available immediately, which is really the only downside.

On top of that, the bears will help you get honey to tame the Abberation beaver equivalent, Rollrats.
