Single player LOTS creatures in caves
Hi.
I have problem on single player game. In every cave there are A LOT of snakes, spiders etc. Is this a bug ? How i can limit number of those creatures?

In my view when you are at this point while developping a game that because you wont change or add a lot of stuff again and the developpement is getting to its end.

Cross your finger that they start working on single player so we can actually call it a single player ark.Right now they only added the single player option that you can click to make it easy. The only thing i see is that you drop dino spawn rate and number in your option.Other then that cross your finger that they do something for those who play single player.

Thats working as intended. Get a good caving mount.

Yeah, caves ara not easy in the beginning, you need a good dino, and yeah good armor and wepons. The singler player settings buff the stats of your tamed dinos ( A lot, i don't recommend check this). Put bed or sleeping bags in the entrance of the cave, have bloodpacks or brews for life, and its a survival game, if you die it's normal, with practice and skills you can do a cave alone without problems.

Considering the old problem was nothing spawning in caves, they fixed the problem.

In addition to getting a good Dino....grenades. Lots of creatures in an enclosed space. Perfect for them. In Chinese, the word for problem is the same as the word for opportunity. Those lots of critters are also a lot of chitin.

grenades dotn do that much damage to creatures I am pretty sure.

unless the official wiki is incorrect (perish the thought!), it states that grenades do 750 damage to creatures. I'd consider that pretty good. Also I've personally used them to good effect, although admittedly it has been awhile. I'm willing to admit if the damage has been altered recently, you could be right.

yep.ive play online for 2 years and i was tired of the lag and rubber band.Started a game in single player and..........its worse.Better make a backup of it each time you play...........ive been a long supporter of this game but, with all the money they made and still does.Cant believe they not doing anything more to fix the game and the single player.Pretty much why i didnt buy conan and probably my last product from them.

Really counts on the cave. Some caves you can bring things like Raptors and Bayonyx with you. I remember seeing one on Scortched Earth which is a different story though, only very small tames can make it in, ie something smaller than even a raptor.

I've not done much cave hunting as I focus mostly on having fun building and taming. But I had no problem the few times I ventured into caves on The Center and Ragnarok. I never went in alone though, had a few pack mules with me with claws and teeth. One of my The Center bases actually had access to one of the caves, if I flew down the access it would auto throw me off my mounts omg did that almost kill me one time, it was shaft that I couldn't go back up... so I just ran for my life past most of the mobs and escaped. Came back with 3 Raptors and all those mobs just for the XP for my raptors. Was a great place to level and hunt for keratin.

The bigges issue I have with caves.. specifically the islands caves is that the spawns are often glitched into the walls..

At least we have spawns in the caves now.. When I first went into caves with the goal of taming a spider I couldn't find any.. in fact there was nothing in the cave at all..
Considering there are several creatures that only spawn in the caves I was pretty annoyed that I couldn't obtain them.

Happy I can now.. in fact I just did a singeplayer run in the lower south cave.
Went in without any tames.. just a Ghillie suit some bug spray a JM Crossbow and a Rifle with only tranq darts.
Got the artifact and tamed a 120 Spider, a 73 Arthropleura, a 113 Scorpion and a 40 Megalania.
Was a good run.. found an ascendent Terror Bird saddle blueprint too.

Once you've done some of the caves a few times and learned their layouts they're actually pretty easy and loose a lot of their initial intimination.
There are a few hard ones though.. I've still yet to explore a couple.. namely the Eastern water cave and the 2 ice caves which I believe are all full of super high level creatures that can't be tamed.. Don't think you can take tames in the ice caves either so they are gonna be the hardest ones.

If you need advice on what tames to take in the caves most will agree the Baryonyx is probably the best.. it can fit in most of them and kill just about anything you'll find in them..
I don't use them for the water caves though.. Western water cave is easy enough to fly through with a Sarco so long as you avoid the Jellyfish and the Eels where as the Eastern Water Cave can contain Giant Squids and again Jellyfish so I'm not going in there without a high level Basilosaurus since they can't be grabbed or stunned.

The biggest problem with them though as I said is enemies hiding in the walls.. hopefully this is something the devs plan on fixing with the upcoming bug patches.
