Does Island Volcano Erupt Anymore?

I've been playing single player island and I noticed that the volcano doesn't erupt anymore. No mods are installed. Is this intentional or am I messed up?

no it didn't, but in the patch notes months ago in the future plans bit it did say that they were going to add eruptions, but I have seen or heard nothing about that since

It only erupts once every 200-300 years of ingame time.

the volcano on Ragna errupts frequently, maybe mixing things up here?

Really? So it was added? And if that is true then most people will never even see it. 300 years in game is actual years in real life.

So, noone here remembers all the stink that was raised when the tribes that settled on the volcanoe had to relocate their bases because the devs were going to make the volcanoe start erupting? Please tell me i'm not imagining that? Maybe this was a pre-official release thing that never came through.

They changed their minds. Originally they said it was changing to erupt, and even did a map showing the whole moutain area a affected zone. Later they reduced the size with a in game fence so people could move before the update happened.
However I guess due to issues making it work they ended up just changing the area to be the end game boss area.

Mind you the Volcano still changed a decent amount, so previous buildings would have likely had issues regardless. They never really did add eruptions for the Island, though I imagine it may be possible to as Ragnarok has proven it possible.
