Metal building texture looks horrible.

Would have been good if we were given a choice of a stainless steel look, a burnished metal look, and that horrible rusted texture that I guess some players like.

I dislike metal cause it's so bright, I paint it dark colors.

Interestingly the rusted metal is reflective as hell. I find it really unpleasant to look at when lightsources are nearby. Its especially bad on aberration.

You can disable Light Bloom/Light Shaft setting, which reduced the reflection of metal by alot

Canteloupe color paint gives metal an awesome looking copper color

The rusted look on everything is what I do not like.

Will try the canteloupe painting. Got spoiled in another game all I had to do was point a paint or texture gun, choose entire item or this side only and zap. Is so much easier with more texture options than Ark.

Painting each of the metal edges on each piece so far does not seem like fun to me. Maybe there is an easier way I do not know about yet. This is my first attempt with the painting system in Ark.

There is the spray gun, makes things faster, but not as efficient as you described

I've been having trouble using Adobe because of the texture on them. It's not that the texture on the metal or adobe is bad, but like you said, it'd be nice to have options that don't have rust or weathered effects.

Metal building blocks have a rusted texture on them. When you place down a default colored one, it's the orange splotchy bits that stain it.

It was a struggle not calling it a "rustic" orange, but yes, that stain is meant to be rust.

rust is why our infastructure in America is falling apart

pigeon cr^p is caustic ,and multiplies the effect of rust many times (pigeons are all over our briges )

metal is installed already rusting ,and painted usually without removal..just a primer

we need to use a chemical alteration on rust before painting fo r it to never be a perpetual problem
