Viking Bay (Ragnarok) kicks me from server since patch
If I enter Viking Bay (western side by the big rib-cage waterfall) the server kicks me off and won't let me rejoin. I have to quickly restart the server and hope that I get put back a few minutes so I'm not there anymore.

I'm thinking that it's either a bug on the map or there is an animal there causing the issue. I know of an Alpha Raptor there that we haven't dealt with yet. Since the TLC update changed up raptors, perhaps Alpha's are a little buggy? Anyone seen an issue at that location or with Alpha raptors?

If it's your server you should do a dino wipe to help change any models that were not affected and if your using CF (classic flyers), this should help with any lag or crashes

Ah this didn't work unfortunately. I'm assuming then it's something to do with the server or map. It only happens after the update, perhaps something corrupted on the server. Think i'll restore a backup and see how that goes.

Yeah, this happened to me (I also made a post) It turned out to be a massive base (it had mega turrets and whatnot) which I couldnt see. My buds needed to come kill me whenevr i got stuck there. Might be one in the waterfall cave. If its a prviate server idk whats teh cause ask if someoen has a base nearby.

The location the OP is talking about has a cave that could maybe hold a massive base that would be visible unless you went into the cave.

What mods are you using?

It's just a server for me and my friends/family. I know the only bases on the map and no one is building in Viking bay currently. Funnily enough I didn't know about that cave though.

No bases but i'm using 3 mods currently. Structures +, Solar panels and ammo factory. I don't think any of these are going to cause a problem away from my base, in a specific area only. I could disable them but i'm worried about what that would do the builds on the server.

I just validated my files again and went to the area in single player and it was fine. Then logged back into my server to be sure and it crashed again. It's definately server side. I need to look into reinstalling on the server without losing any save data I guess.

Not sure how you host but you should have an option to reinstall the game or even just Ragnarok. It shouldn't effect the saves or settings. Who is your host?

You should use FTP to backup the saves and ini files(should be doing this anyways)

Are you playing on the same computer your server is on? How much memory do you have on your computer?

I'm using Multiplay through the ClanForge front end so not hosting from home or anything. It should be fine really. I'm not sure that there is FTP access through this, I'm going to have to look into it.

I also just confirmed that another person on the server is having the same issue so it is 100% server side.

I would never use a host without FTP. You need to be in possession of the save files (and ini files). That way you could move to another host if necessary.

Yeah I'm beginning to see the benefit of that now. I might have to raise a ticket and get them to reinstall Ragnarok for me. It's not ideal.

Yea, I host my own servers for friends and family on another older pc I have saves money that way. Sucks waiting for someone else to fix the problem hopefully they will get it sorted quickly for you. Good luck.

Thanks. I'd like to do this too I think, maybe when I have the money for a separate server I'll consider it. Multiplay's support has been awesome up till now, so hopefully they won't make me jump through hoops for a simple dlc reinstall.
