Large dinos are best because swamp dinos will ignore them.I personally recommend Spinos for the job,or Megatheriums.
those point are y i say go for spino or rex, they are easy tame..for earlier go for trike...only thing to keep in mind is keeping those kappro ahead so the jump attack cant touch you..if they are behind you they will grab you
and in case u want to avoid the swamp ,the west side is not peacefull but kinda easy too travel from south to north
theri is a good choice as well, but try not to hit tree,u will found yourself overloaded...can be a dead call again kappro
frog are easely the best at surviving the island just dont stand still
and you will laugh at thiss but paracer are very effective in the swamp , my perssonal take, in se again golem and wyvern put a grill on it a catapult & a ballista and some chain shot and some friend or plant also a lil detail,if it havent change ,im not too much into stat thingy, but last time i checked the damage was even with spino....it can get alot of hp and stam, run fast o.0 laughable with a house on it >.< ,grill make it easy for cooking prime meat(main reasson i love it ahah)
Male T-rex . I don't specify the sex for some shovinistic reason. Simply I don't want to be tempted to to grab T-Rex egg that had dropped and endanger myself for jumping in the water.
Why a T-rex you say?
1. Line of sight ... I can look above the trees and lower it to see below the T-rex's hips to see on coming threats. Above = looking for any sort of alpha dino . Below = looking for a Dino' you don't want to kill like a high level Baryonx or Snail.
2. A T-rex can kill anything in the swamps , as long as you find high points (above the water line) to make stops leeches won't get a chance to attack and attach. Even if they do, get out of the saddle while staying on the T-rex's back and look at it and hold "e" and select remove leech . Then look down and get back into the saddle .
3. T-rex's get EXP for destroying trees that they store NO Resources like wood to slow them down ... this will also help when leveling a breeded Rex to make them strong quick to go to boss fight's . Outside of just hunting for alpha's .
4. If attacked while off the T-rex run to the bottom of it's arm's. It wants to give you a hug and make it better . 8)
