Had all my gear on it. Had full food (like 15000 food and maybe was sitting at 14800) Are these mounts bugged while in hibernation? Are they even safe to rely on? I have no idea how or why it dies and this strat im using is the only Viable way i can play this game Solo.

And now im sitting here without a clue as to what may have gone wrong.

Sometimes it can be hard to figure out what happened after the fact, especially if you are not there to witness it. If something killed it legit, then that is life on Ark which will happen to you many times.

If it was truly a game bug, and I was not willing to start over, then I'd be tempted to spawn-in a replacement mount, tame or "dotame" it and get it replaced. Whatever gear you lost can also be spawned-in if that too is an issue. If using a cheat can't be done on your play method/server type or if you are abhorrent to the thought, then...punt.

Im on an official server. It is possible someone could of found it. Also i don't think that's the case either because i have 3 of these things and this particular one was purposefully placed far away from my base in the middle of no where.

The msg that states it was killed is usually something you would see if something drowns or is killed my spikes or fall damage. I would figure a player would just tranq it and take the ♥♥♥♥ or just kite it into another wild Dino.

Anyway im not even sure if i should continue playing. If i cant confirm it was a player or how it died then ill be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if i trust using them again, in which case im scewed completely because there is no way im putting loot in my base as a solo player.

Ive thought about that but i still find the wooden box idea really sketchy. I started off on this server doing just that.

If the purlovia starved to death then the purlovia is bugged and needs to be fixed. I checked it's food everyday and it hardly dropped at all while in hibernation. I would be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pissed if the UI mislead me or didnt update the numbers properly.

It will say (starved to death) in tribelog if it did starve after the kill message.

Ive had that thing for like a month now. The only logical explaination is that someone somehow found it.

I'd be more inclined to believe it was killed by something or more likely by somebody if you are in MP mode. MP on official servers is known for containing people that will wreck you day for no good reason just for the fun of being bad to others. It has long been part and parcel of that kind of game-play.

I've very rarely had a dino starve to death and it sounds like you had plenty of food on it to last an eon. Getting your stuff stolen and people messing with your world can happen a lot in MP for this game. You'll have to either get used to that or pick a better (friendlier) server/group in which to play.

For me the Loot isnt an issue. It's the fact that i can't trust using these tames anymore for security. I mean it would be literally be insane for me to farm all that ♥♥♥♥ again and put it in another one. Even more insane to put it in my base.

The only thing i can do now is join another tribe. I dunno, Ive played PVE for countless hours so the official servers are the final frontier for me to enjoy Ark. Im just looking for any reason to continue playing because theres nothing else to play.

I hear ya. There is no way I'd waste the countless hours to farm stuff in Ark and then have someone cause me to hafta do it all over again. That is one reason (of several) that I only play SP in Ark. If I were to enter the fray of MP in Ark, it would only be with a good tribe that could help eliminate that problem. A good tribe could also help you get started over again by helping out with resources.

Same thing happened to me a few days ago, all of our purlovia magically "died".

Remember, Drowning or posining, or c4 explosions dont show up as somone or somthing killing it. It will simply say it died. The reason they are not secure ways of hiding things is cause people can simply turn down render range and see them in the ground with that bump sticking up before the foliage appears. Dinos always appear before foliage when you have your render distance down. Now most people wont be doing this but big tribes will and so will people with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ computers so they will see your hidden purlovia with no problem. As nice as they are for storage, the Alpha tribe Im in use them all the time for that, they are mutch better for laying traps and for ambushes. Otherwise if you plan to use them as storage then keep them in your base. Keeping them out somewhere you think is hidden is a bad idea unless its in the ocean, and then a purlovia wont do ♥♥♥♥ lol.

Yeah but people who arent in your tribe cant see the bumps, they have the use a troodons scout ability. Which alot of people i figure wouldnt go through the hassle of doing...it's more likely they would use it around a persons base, which is why my situation is horribly unfortunate because it happened to be the purlovia that was no where near my base and had all my best ♥♥♥♥ and BP's in it.

I believe the wolf now has the ability to find stealthed/buried critters, somebody running around for one could easily find your attack badger and drop it a surprise.
