A single high level Rex vs Gamma Broodmother
My Rex is a level 239 with 500 attack and about 15k health. His saddle is also Mastercraft which will give him more armor. I really don't feel like going out to tame and level 18 Megatheriums, a Daedon, and a Yuty. How are my odds looking against this big spider?

Is that his base stats or is he leveled up?

If it's base you should be golden. Just breed 19 of those and get them leveled and saddled, and brood mother should be easy.

If it's max level already with 15k health...you better find something in the 35k-45k health range once it's leveled instead.

So basically it's more grind to fight the easiest boss on the easiest difficulty? I love this game but this is getting slightly annoying.

Its a Boss.... after all, and NOT the easiest one.

Do you really think a single bad lvl and Stat Rex should be able to kill a Boss???

Well idk since I've never fought a boss and I'm pretty sure it's the easiest. Looking at the Megapithecus and Dragon, Broodmother looks tame by comparison.

You can take 20 dinos into the Arena... that should give you an indication of how hard they are meant to be.

Mediocre for easy... average for medium... pretty damned good for hard.

Breeding is essential.

As is a good saddle. Our first time in gamma brood I think we had 18 Rex with around 30k hp and 500% melee, 1 yuty, and 1 daeodon. It was easy but that gives you an indication of what you need. Alpha brood our Rex are all 34k hp and 700ish%. Some very bloody Rex came out.

I may be thinking 44k hp, actually. Not 34k. Now I can't remember.

On a laughable note, I bred megatheriums I had laying around my base. They came out to 236ish. Mate boosted pair with MC saddles and 1 yuty went on and killed her on gamma lol. 3 dinos.

breed about 5 rexs and 2 megatherium male and female, megatherium for dps and rexs more for tanking, that would be bare minimum id use to take on gamma broodmother, yuty if you have someone to actually ride it

Please record and post the video on youtube when you go fight broodmother with a single rex with those stats.

I need a good chuckle.

Broodmother gamma won t really give those great engramms,
Rexes are easier to breed but Megatheriums are the number one dino for spider.

Megas take a bit longer to breed but saddles don t have to be great aswell as stats.
12 k hp und blue saddle or maybe even vanilla saddle are enough for betha.
( higher boss wil unlock engramms of lower ones too )

After all - Rexes are great for Ape and can be sufficient for Dragon / Manticore ..
So you really want some Rexes.
Farming saddles is another task wich isn t done in 5 minutes.

Just treat it like a longtime investment like a good base,
once you re set you can spam run s over and over.

I'm in the process of breeding some Megatheriums. Not exactly decent levels to take on a boss but I can quickly level them

I did say something constructive.

You just did not understand it.

The bosses in this game are complete trash. Mass breeding rexes is about the most boring thing to do in this game.

what are the MMO terms again... hmm... basically Ark has bosses that are pure tank and spank, they're literally just DPS checks that do a lot of damage to you

unfortunately there is zero creativity in how you fight them, you take 20 top tier rexes with the best saddles you can get.

maybe 19 rexes while you ride a yutyrannus and use the buffing shout
