Also take some large poop with you to tame some beetles till the megalos are done. :)

I can confirm you that, in my case, Larkator shows me all the dinos, even ones in caves. I can see that there is currently a Megalosaurus in my game, in the South East lava cave.
For people who don't know what Larkator is, it's an awesome open source tool which shows dinos locations (wild and tamed) on the map, outside the game.
