How am i supposed to ever make a metal base

I wanted to start building a metal base. So for a metal fundament i need like 50 metal barrels + alot of cementing paste. Its not really hard to farm metal but crafting cementing paste feels like a big pain in the butt. i just farmed 2 hours to get some keratin. i got like 200 and could craft like 60 x cementing past. Out of that i just crafted 7 x metal fundament. like really? i could literally farm a whole week and not even get close to a finnished base. you get like 10-20 x keratin from one turtle. it just takes so damn long to get all this. wauw . any suggestions?

Harvest dino's man.... get a kitty cat .. pump it to over 400% melee and harvest chitin in the chitin caves.

They give a good amount.

Make sure you empty the dams or they will not restock

Beaver dams for cementing paste, Megatherium for chitin for cementing paste, and Ankylo and Argy for ez metal.

yep, beaver dams, and also you might want to tame a beezlebufo frog.... they harvest chiten AND cementing paste directly from ants/mosquitos...

Yeah I wouldn't bother with turtles and Keratin..go for the chitin corpses...The mantis give quite a bit as well as the Arthropluera. I usually just use a chainsaw and get a decent amount. Megatherium gets a lot as well and gets a buff to dmg after killing any bug like creatures so he kills faster.

I can't remember what the snails are called, but target those with any good gatherer of chitin, like the Megatherium or the Beezelbufo. One snail drops around 350 chitin depending on the stats, which is insane. Kill 10 snails and you got yourself 3500 chitin.

I farm beaver dams using my wyvern to massacre the beavers when they aggro.
I also keep 2 snails... they generate around 100 paste a day each.

lol thx for the beaver advice. but i never expected that beavers can be so angry. they allmost got me killed.
