Two items: Lasso and whip

The internets information on these two items are not across the board consistent. To clear that up, the lasso can only pull unconscious dinos, correct?
Also, the whip, amongst other things, will make your own mount run faster if used while sprinting on it?

Lasso can pull most creatures so long as they're small enough, I've pulled around flying Pelagornis before. It's best if you look at the wiki to find out which creatures are effected.

When it comes to the whip it can make your creatures move faster, but you cannot be mounting them.

I swear I have tried to lasso the wild dinos the wiki states can be pulled but I have to knock them unconcious first :(

Lasso only work with not unconscious dinos smaller than a horse and other players, don't try with something big such a rex lol. Whip move your dinos for a few seconds, even if they are full of weight, but you can't ride them. Also, it has a chance to remove any tool/weapon another player has in is hands.

Reviving this thread! The wiki post is this :
It can only be crafted in an Equus with the Equus Saddle equipped and it can only be used while riding an Equus.

The Lasso can be used to drag around unconscious creatures. When used on conscious creatures, it pulls them a short distance towards the rider.

Although it inflicts 1.4 times as much torpor as damage (i.e. 14 torpor base), it is not an effective means of knocking out a creature, nor of keeping one unconscious for a long journey.

The lasso can also be used to gather certain resources and to collect dropped items and loot bags from a distance by pulling them towards the rider; it does not collect such items automatically.

The lasso can drag unconscious creatures from the following list.


Ok so it can only drag unconcious creatures. If used on concious creature, it just does a little damage and a slight pull.

This si what the wiki says and what I am experiencing. Am I the only one left out here orrr!?!?!?
