Can't craft Polymer

I made a fabricator and put it in the corner of my building. I loaded it with cementing paste and obsidian. When I select polymer, it shows the ingredients in green, but it says "can be crafted at the fabricator" in red and the option to "craft 21" is greyed out and sunselectable. What to do?

that depends on the map but mostly in the watter

Oil is found mostly in underwater rocks (they have oily trails above them), or oil node rocks in the snow biomes. Those look black and oily. Also some water dinos drop oil, like basilos.

Or if in the island go to the north west corner in the snowy part on the icebergs there’s oil there there are also penguins and if you kill can farm there bodies for organic polymer which does the same as normal polymer except it spoils

Also trilobytes give some oil, and hesperornis eggs can be cooked into oil, in addition to what others said.

If you are on Rag, there are three oil nodes up in the snow biome above Viking Bay, and down South towards the Wyvern area, there is a small butte that has two oil wells. The Desert area has numerous nodes all over too.

Not to mention the dead fish all along the coast from the lava flow to the lighthouse, for oil that is.

Yep yep that is a great area, and fast collection in a pinch.

Now that I think about it, there are also oil nodes in Viking Bay itself, but you have to exercise caution, due to the "earwigs" that congregate around the sunk Viking ship.

Raid a base for it or steel it from an oil pump ;)

While you don’t get very much, robotic dino’s often drop a few oil maybe 1-3 if I remember correctly
