Caves Entrance

I tried out my first cave today. It was the lower south cave. I don't think I would have ever found it had I not googled caves :/

Anyway, I tried to get my theriz, then my sarco, inside to fight the badies. Noone fits through the entrance! Is this common for all the caves? I don't think I have much power with just me and my crossbow. I need all my breeding to be put to use!

You need little stuff for caves.

Cats, wolves, barry, maybe craptors

Other options are to raise babies inside. They are stuck in there forever though.

Early game get a saber because it's easy to find high levels and good saddles but eventually you want to go baryonyx, they are awesome for caves. I've even cleared the easy sea cave with one.

Always breed them first and make backups because you need to leave one permanently in one of the caves (think it's upper south). A bit more effort to find a good one out in the wild.

This is correct. Upper south cave is the only one outside the snow caves that you have any trouble fitting the normal cave mounts in. I believe wolves can fit through it, but nothing bigger can fit through a narrow spot in the upper south cave. I use my Barrys to get to the choke point then have a saber that I accidentally fell off the cliff on and is now stuck down past the choke point that I use to finish the cave. Other than that, you can fit sabers or Barry's in any cave. I highly recommend going straight to the Barry's. They really aren't that much harder to tame than wolves or sabers and are much more effective cave Dino's.
