Bad Module Info Crash - NEED HELP
I am experiencing repetitive crashes whilst playing ARK: Survival Evolved, and after every crash a message pops up saying:
"bad_module_info has stopped working"
forcing me to close down ARK.

After searching here and there on the internet I have found two ways to fix this both of which do not work in my scenario:
1- Going into the Properties of the launcher -> Compatibility -> Check the "Disable full-screen optimisations"

2-Change the ingame settings from "full screen" to "Windowed full screen"

And after Seeing that neither of these fixes worked for me I tried to notice a trigger to the crash, and I've noticed that it happens when traveling by air (Griffin, Argentavis) longish distances.

I can't find anything related to this particular problem and was wandering if anyone had any info that could help

This is a Windows 10 issue. The fixes you mention do help in a lot of cases, but generally only reduces the occurrence, not stop it completely.

It has nothing to do with travelling by air long distances.

But it only happens when I do travel by air.
The time of when I do it is irrelevant, I could do after playing an hour and it it would still only happen when I travel by air for a longish time
And When I travel the same distance on land the crash doesn't happen, dispite being on a very fast mount (Gallimimus).

Yesterday I was standing in my base and I got Bad Module.

It's not specifically related to travelling by air, you can get the crash by being AFK. It's a Windows 10 issue, and if you did research on the internet as you said you did you'd see it affects other games like Fortnite and PUBG, so no it's not about travelling by air, it just happens to do that in your occasions, but it's not the root of the issue.

I've also seen that it's a recent issue with Epic Games.
How long has this problem been around?

It's been around since Microsoft released the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update last year.

Oh, and apart from those fixes I have mentioned are there other fixes?

When disabling full screen optimisations I also set it to launch in compatibility for Windows 8. No idea if that helps, but I generally only get bad module once every 2 weeks after I did all that.

No it didn't help for me. :/

Anything else?

Found on this forum a while back. In Task Manager find "igfxEM Module" and End Task. Works for me.

igfxEM Module is used for Intel graphics so would only be the issue if you were using those graphic drivers. Very common on LT's that are a couple years old. GP is correct that it may seem to apper more when flying but that is not the sole cause of the issue. I have a 1080TI and it still happens on occastion with my set up.

you "COULD" try this. I will tell you however, this will take a while to complete. You MUST follow the directions to a "T" but this will repair your win 10 OS. It will reset everything you have turned off etc etc. Its a very good page and the only thing better is a reinstall, which it almost does anyways. It will scan and repair your win 10 OS.

It might help you with your module problem.

This is the first time I have seen any answers. Thank you so much for this discussion. I will try it!
