Recommended harvest and damage settings for single player?
Hey guys, I tend to overdo buffs so what would y'all think is a good balance for added player damage and harvest amount for single player. Currently I have it set to x5 damage and x10 harvest @ 1.0 difficulty. The harvest amounts are fine if I collect by myself but dinos make the numbers absolutely absurd.

I wouldn't change the damage setting, you make the game easy.

A lot of the game is balanced around tribe play and player damage doesn't affect dino damage. I like dilo's to die in one shot to the head personally.

Then set what you want. That damage also affects harvesting, so you might want to lower than to 2 or 3x.

It's tough... balancing the game between difficult, fun, and a chore.

It's always best to play the game the way the developers intended. They do know their profession. Many interesting systems become meaningless with buffed gathering/taming/XP rates, like why make kibble farm if you can tame everything quickly without kibble? If you don't need kibble, you don't need crops. Then you don't really need irrigation or fertilizer, other than for x-plants.

What you are left with is a hollow husk of a game which is no fun at all. It is strange to me that "everyone" seems to prefer that, looking at the rates people run on their servers...

Well a solo kibble farm is far from fun imo. Maybe that's some people's cup o tea but not mine. I find the process of taming to be the least fun.

Edit: If it took less kibble, then I'd be ok with it. But needing what? 50 kibble for a mid level tame @ x1 and STILL taking an hour isn't fun.

You can leave taming at 1x...requires lots of food and large effect on efficiency.

Then use the new wild dino food consumption setting to make them eat faster. (Without effecting you tame dinos consumption...another new setting)

ooooo so you speed up taming without making it just easier. That's definitely something I'll fiddle with on my next start. +1

I'm pretty sure it takes an hour because the game spawns predators which you have to defend your tame against. And you are supposed to get a feeling of achievement when you complete a tame. Just going out and bringing some new dinos back to camp, is also to bypass systems and no fun for me personally.

Meh, they die way too easily for me to invest hours and many more hours of preperation.

i play solo with default gather and damage, taming x4 (immersive taming mod).
Only for those two i changed gather to x2 and x3;

HarvestResourceItemAmountClassMultipliers=(ClassName = "PrimalItemResource_Metal_C",Multiplier=2.0)

HarvestResourceItemAmountClassMultipliers=(ClassName = "PrimalItemResource_Obsidian_C",Multiplier=3.0)

Then raise taming? You can put it up so 1 or 2 kibble will tame out a giga.

If you don't like taming you might want to try immersive taming mod. It gives you an alternative way to tame creatures, so you always have a choice.
