Same. I'm about to turn 37. Games were $59.99.
They think because Company X sells a game for twenty bucks, that everyone has to. Games get developed behind the scenes for years, and release for sixty bucks. They get to watch Ark develop, and even play it during that time, and now that the hype has worn off, they don't feel it's worth sixty bucks. Yes, it's pathetic.
Same here. Think of the amount of money saved by not blowing it on eating out, movies, etc... You could drop a couple hundred bucks on Ark, and literally save thousands due to the amount of hours it will give you.
They didn't "double the price". It's always been on sale, and now the sale has ended. There's plenty of people playing this game, and it's the only one of it's kind, so it won't be going anywhere anytime soon. You won't be missed...
Im.not sure what the big deal with ark is. I have a library full of 80+ $ games. Ark has caught the imagination of now 3 or 4 generations of gamers. I have ark friends on there 60s and retired. Also tribes of 10y olds on the map. I suggested they name there tribe "little lamplite" they did kot get it..😒
I think ARK is worth $60 if you ask me.
Put it this way.... would you walk into a steakhouse and be like "Well I got a Hamburger at McDonalds for 2 dollars.... why is yours 12 dollars?" Please marinade on that for a while.
Remember when the pentium 3 was released?.
Unreal tournament?
On Steam? Because i only see regular prices in the european region.
Yep, its their "explorer's edition". Word to the wise though, come to think of it that isn't ncessarily the cheapest way to get them. Steam gives dicsounts on bundles for stuff you already own. For me it was actually cheaper to Scortched Earth separately, it was only $8 as apposed to $10 each with the season pass (already owned Ark). The way Steam discounts work though, it ended up being only $15 and some change for the season pass.

I've been a gamer for damn near 30 years and 60 bucks was always the standard..sometimes 70. [/quote]
Well I distinctly remember games during the Gamecube/PS2/Xbox era being mostly $40, at least until the tail end. I've seen people qoute $50, but I suspect that may have been late and cross-generation releases as the industry reconditioned the industry for the $60 price-point.
That said, you're right, up until the N64/PS1 days games have been $60-$70, or even as much as $90 in some cases.
