I'm going to build a PC with a GTX 1070, R5 1600, 16 GB DDR4 3200. Anyone with similar specs how do you perform on high/epic?

This card still isn't fast enough to run ark @ full epic settings at all times. Expect average FPS in the 40's and low 50's if you do. To maintain 60 FPS minimums at all times you will have to turn some settings down/off.

I use a GTX 1070 with a mix of high and epic stats.. I have general shadows down to normal though since I honestly don't care nor notice them half the time anyway and they are typically a big culprit for dropping fps.

not sure how much diffrance between 1070 and 1070 ti , but im useing 1070 ti I7 4th 32 ram, all on epic includ shadows all run smoth, dinos and structures still takes time to load near huge bases of course, but i dont have any issue what so ever, fps between 50 - 180 as far as i notice

Found a couple of "ark performance" vids with the same cpu and gpu how ever all they really show is running/flying around on the beaches etc, no actual game footage , bases, battles etc so I would expect to see some significant dips in those scenario's.

All in all it's a fairly decent set up, ARK just isn't the best game for getting the most out of hardware.

**edit** Should also be noted that the ram speed is unknown in the 1st vid the 2nd is using 2400mhz , it's been proven time and time again Ryzen cpu's perform better with higher memory speeds as I said in your other post and you stated you would be using 3200mhz so you would probably see slightly better results.
