Organic Polymer Farm Help
Ok, I am trying to set up an organic polymer farm with Penguins, but I can't seem to get it to work. Babies are hatching...their name above them is red, yet my auto turret will not attack them (tried all different settings). I was just letting them die naturally but that didn't seem to interest my moschops set on wander and aggresive. So I figured if my turret attacked the babies it would come in cleanup duty and harvest the body. But the turret isn't firing and the moschops isn't harvesting the bodies that die naturally even though he's hungry.

No clue what I am doing wrong. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Rideable moschops will help.

I don't know how invented that dumb penguin farm idea with moschops and most importantly why it got hyped up so much.
Just get a chainsaw and go ham, you get much more polymer.

Also afaik turrets do not shoot unclaimed baby dinos.

Why isn't the moschops farming the bodies? No idea, I don't use moschops.
Also fully matured penguins provide more polymer than babies.

As kit said, the soon to be ridable mos will be good for that.

Depending on the map you're on though the old peng farm method is obsolete. On Ragnarok for example, its far more productive to kill and harvest mantis.

Originally the baby farm was a method that was invented before moschops came along and then folks tried to merge the two ideas together there after. Just sort of a progressive blurring if you will.

Ok, I should have been clear, I know there are superior ways to get organic polymer if I personally get it, but I am lazy so I try to find autonomous ways to farm. The internet told me this method works...but apparently it lied to me....again.

It can work. It is just finicky. The moschops don't always harvest sometimes they are scared of corpses.

just make a snail farm paste and poly on tap

I guess I should've been more clear: unfortunately, your wants do not match the reality of the situation.

Given what they contextually said about laziness, they probably arent wanting to make a support system with hives, crops etc for sweet veggie cakes either.

First off, if it sounded like I was getting an attitude (which prompted yours) my apologies, I wasn't trying to come off that way. That said I do have a snail farm with a dozen snails, they are great for paste but seem very slow at polymer, I guess I could just get more I suppose.

I might have found the problem, the moschops was occassionally walking to a part of the room where he caught the range of a feeding trough, so he probably was never hungry. I moved that trough so we'll see.

are you on a map that has Manits?

Yes=you will never touch a penguin in your life

No=tame snails and make a snail farm instead. Slow to start but before long you will have more poly than what you will know what to do with

Also are you on official or unofficial or single player?

if you can get the Structures Plus mod, they have collectors that will collect what you need from resource dinos, even poop. that will help you a ton if you can get that mod.

Yes, I'm on Ragnarok, unofficial server. No mods. Is this just harvesting polymer from them or do they havest?

Kill those mantis.
Cor. Apr 4, 2018 @ 9:19am
hunt Mantis with your favorite killer dino. when your dino eats them, it will harvest organic poly. Megatheriums I think are the best with bugs, but a ptera barrel roll will suffice.

Mantis or penguins. Penguins are also easy to kill and give more when they are grow up, at least from my experience.
