Survive the Ark vs Dododex
So there are two apps that I've been using, trying to decide which is the better one to stick with. One is the StA Companion App and the other is Dododex. Love the functionality of both but I noticed that when I input dino stats into their calculators, there are slight differences. Dododex says 36 points, StA says 31 points, etc.

Does anyone know which app has more accurate stat calculators?

So thats the Issue, Survive the ark wont give accurate stats post-tame.
Dododex does and so does the Ark wiki :)

Ive been using both here and there, not really noticed any difference. What type of stats are incorrect for you?

Mainly using Survive because the ability to input weapon % dmg so I know how much I need to shoot stuff

Well, I have a 214 Direwolf plugged in right now. This is what both apps say about it.

SA Creature Stats:
Health - 31pts
Stam - 22pts
Oxy - 26pts
Food - 26pts
Weight- 34pts
Melee - 50pts
Speed - 24pts

Dododex Creature Stats:
Health - 36pts
Stam - 22pts
Oxy - 26pts
Food - 25pts
Weight- 33pts
Melee - 50pts
Speed - 21pts

They seem to disagree on how the stats are distributed. So I'm wondering which one has the better accuracy. (Loving the melee regardless)

Hmm, It it only was +/- 1 point id guess the round the values different, but for example the health is 5 points, thats quite alot of difference. If its unofficial id suggest the Spyglass mod that shows points to see whats more correct.

Whats the actual health of your wolf for example? (Imprinted?)

Unfortunately I'm playing on console, so mods are out. It's a fresh tame, no levels have been added yet, and no imprinting bonus. The health is 2706.

From what I've hear and seen DodoDex is the best option

The stat calculator on Dododex and the official Ark wiki do not give accurate stats post-tame either. Under the Dododex calculator, it says that it supports only pre-tame stats. The calculator on the Official Ark wiki also states that it is usable only for pre-tame stats. But, if you look up what stats an individual creature gets a taming bonus on, you can work backwards and find out how many points each stat received before the taming bonus was factored in.

What's the point knowing the PRE-TAME stats ? isn't when breeding, the stats we need to know is post-tame, so I always make directories inside a good dino's inventory with their stats written for reference later, after taming it.

It's weird that breeding is one of the core gameplay element in Ark, yet it doesn't provide a built-in tool to keep track of our dino database especially for its stats, we have to rely on third party app, and even that needs a bit of knowledge about how things work. The game should provide a good database record for info about our dino, also for comparing, what stats we would expect when bred, etc. Been hoping that kind of feature since FOREVER but seems like it will never be added.

What do you mean? Dododex has this feature too. Just tap "Edit Weapons" :)

I have both and I find either one great, but SA is easier to navigate for me.
