How to turn off Dino claiming timer on PVE
OK so I’ve been to quite a few different forums, and it seems like I cannot find this answer anywhere. Maybe there is not an option but I would just like to make sure and confirm. I have my own server that I am renting through Nitrado. It is a PVE server and the auto decay timers are off or structures and dinos. But I would like to do is completely turn off the timer that allows you to claim other peoples dinos once the eight days. Is this possible?

If decay timers are off then there should be no claim timer

Are you wanting decayed dino's to remain on the server? Or you want them to auto-destruct?

Also.. what is the exact line in your gui. It should be:

DisableDinoDecayPvE=True

Oh that’s what it was! It wasn’t PVE it was set to PvP. Lol thanks

Out of curiosity... why not use auto destruct?

I would like to but tbh I’m not quite that familiar with it and the last time I turned it on, I’m not sure what happened....but half of ppls bases were auto decayed right as soon as I turned it on. They got mad at left, which I understand, just not much I can do about it. Also my wife and I mostly use these servers for us so there’s times that she might not play for like 2-3 weeks. I don’t want her stuff auto decaying lol

I hear ya :)

I always have them on.. for 2 reasons

Pple leave stuff under the mesh alot

And if you have 2 different tribes dino's side by side.... one tribe could have logged in 30mins ago and the other 3months ago and there's no way of telling without a decay timer or trawling through the chat log.

My .ini settings are:

DisableStructureDecayPvE=false

AutoDestroyDecayedDinos=true
PvEDinoDecayPeriodMultiplier=3.000000
PvEStructureDecayPeriodMultiplier=3.0
PvEStructureDecayDestructionPeriod=0
AutoDestroyOldStructuresMultiplier=1.0

This gives people over 20 days before dino's/Wood tier decays. (Decayed dinos are still claimable untill server restart)

Structures then autodestruct imediately and decayed dinos destruct on server restart.

This line- AutoDestroyOldStructuresMultiplier=1.0 means if tribes dont periodicaly bring any structure into render... it will decay at default speed (1.0)

Wow! Very good info there! That’s kind of why I’ve always avoided this issue because I’m terrified of screwing up ppls work plus my own. Thank you very much for taking the time to describe all of that stuff. It really helps a lot. In fact I’d like to try those settings out I’m just worried that the same thing might happen that happened last time.

As you know I’m renting through Nitrado...is there a way I can manually back up what progress there is on that map myself? (I’m on RagnaroK). I’d like to make sure all of people’s characters/Dino’s/structures are all backed up. Basically just to save a whole back up of everything on that map. (Actually have two servers running...RagnaroK & The Island). Is it complicated to save all of that manually?

Also could you clarify a bit on that last part about the Old Structures Multipliers?
“This line- AutoDestroyOldStructuresMultiplier=1.0 means if tribes dont periodicaly bring any structure into render... it will decay at default speed (1.0)”

I’m not sure what you mean by “if tribes don’t periodically bring any structure into render... it will decay at default speed (1.0)

With AutoDestroyOldStructuresMultiplier=1.0

1.0 being the default.... then even without structure decay turned on... if any tribe structures are not visited by a tribe member then they will autodestruct as if decay for them was active at the default decay rate of 1.0 (8 days for wood/16 for metal)

Nitrado should have ftp access.

You can connect to your server files via ftp (File Transfer Protocol) using a program like FileZilla (free download)

With that you can manualy download/upload all files to/from your server..... including saves

I see so if Auto Decay is off still...I will need to change the multiplier to 0.0 to disable it if I want it no structure decay at all correct?

Ok great! Thanks for that, where is the folder that I need to save for all the game saves & progress on rag?

On your server its in Shootergame/saved/savedarks for the worldsave/tribe saves.

If you have Decay off and done want Old structures to decay... just leave the line out.
