Mutation Chances
I'm legally trying to breed a Rex suitable for a boss fight.
Since my Rex already has a good HP value, I only try to increase the attack value by mutations.
I have 250 female and a dozen male Rexes.
I got the first mutations quite fast, but from the 4th I just don't get any more attack mutation .
Meanwhile I have hatched 2500+ Baby Rexe, without a mutation in the attack value, but plenty of others mutations. (Which is no use to me.)
My males are 4-0, my females 0-0.

The chance of a simple muation is about 5-10%. (in my experience)
There are 8 stats. If the chance of a mutation is the same for all (as described in wiki etc), statistically all 300 Rexes would be one with attack mutation. So I assume that the chance of a stat mutation is not the same.
Maybe this decreases with increasing number of mutations, or something similar.
Do either of you know more or can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Do you know how the breeding works for mutations
Hellfire Jun 12, 2018 @ 1:10am
After 20 on each side

Yes i know. Like i said:

Far away from 20...

Youll need to find a male with a main attack rating and mate it with your Female HEalth Rating

Ok, and how does this enhance the attack mutation chance?

It won't, he didn't read your post properly.
As far as I know its all RNG.

Rng, random randomness is random. Sometimes I'd have rounds that gave me no mutations and others that would give me 3. I think the chance is closer to 2%. Keep in mind with varied stats (even speed) it's easy to miss a mutation. You don't always get a visible color so make sure to search for a baby 2 levels higher than dad. It is a took me several months to put together a good mutated theriz line.
It decides whether or not to mutate. Then, it chooses a stat. Then, it chooses which parent's stat to choose. So you could have had multiple melee mutations, where it simply chose the wrong gender stat in the end.

Mutations are closer to 2%. So a 2% of one even occurring, then a 1 in 8 chance of it being the correct mutation. Then, even if it selects the right stat, the baby might still inherit the stat from the wrong parent. So from beginning to end, it's a super small chance of you actually getting the mutation that you want.

The chances don't decrease with more mutations to that stat. You were either getting lucky to begin with, or you're just really unlucky now. Keep at it.

Thx LittleBlueDuneBuggy. This is what everybody says.
But I have not yet read an official statement on the subject. And through my tests, as I said, I have had completely different experiences. I've got almost 300 Rexes (with which I breed, i kill most of the babys, if they don't have the right mutation ) by now. I keep statistics about the mutation and can assure you that my mutation probability is over 2%.

And it is also not a 1 in 8 chance for a certain stat.
I've gotten a right mutation after trying 2600 now.
Even with a 2% chance, 1 out of 730 eggs would come out with a right mutation.
In my experience, the real value is four times higher for me, and that's no longer a coincidence.

Coincidental evidence doesn't mean it applies across the board.

Really?
I have no coincidental evidence, I have empirical data.
I don't know who spread the nonsense about the even probability, but everyone repeats the same thing, although there are enough statements to prove otherwise. (search the board)
Why is everybody so stubborn?

Honestly, it's because they aren't relying so much on "observed data". The code has actually been data mined, so people know in black and white how it is written. Anything that deviates is RNG.

Either way, just keep at it. Even if there is a super tiny chance....there is still a chance.

And the code doesn't change at all... So why worry about what it is now when you know what it was like three years ago...

This is current. But if you're just going to be a smartass, then figure it out on your own.
