Steam is a PC platform.
Also if you're killing multiples thats another numbers crunch. I suggest then reducing settings in game for perhaps harvest, and other things and testing them to see any variation lag wise.
Also if you do the same thing on the island map, do you encounter the same issue?
Is your base on ragnarok extremely large with a very large dino parking lot? If so have you tried moving creatures to another far area and killing to see if get the same lag result?
Too many variables based on what you're saying to know what the source of the issue may be.
Seen others use Steam as a way to talk about console issues, no need to be a prick :)
The stats i'm using don't seem to be incredibly high, get about 500+ metal from swinging at a normal metal rock 9 times (think harvest is set to 20). Damage isn't OP either, most damage i've seen is around 1k-1.5k. Only thing ive really set high is weight and XP. Decomposing isn't meddled with much. I've played on multiplayer servers with multiple people with much bigger bases with higher stats and without this issue.
The main problem is that it's when I kill the baby, not when I actually harvest it. A single death freezes the game for about 4 seconds, and killing a batch of 4 stalls for around 9 seconds. Harvesting them after has no freeze. Sometimes this freeze doesn't happen (maybe about 1/10 kills). This only happens on unclaimed dinos (whether i've previously claimed or just hatched).
I have about 20 dinos including argies, a small pen to hold 6 argies, a small hatching pen with 6 conds and a small base with 2 fabs and 1 ref. There's also another base with an ind forge inside.
Haven't tested this from another location on Ragnarok. Would be annoying if I had to move dinos everytime i wanted to kill them but if it works somewhere else i'm willing to move (currently at 'Volcano Beach', a part of green mountain area near the blackened part). Only other guess is that it's on Ragnarok. When I get the chance I may try to see if this still occurs on another map, which would suck because Ragnarok's my favourite :(
But you should not get lag spikes simply by killing and not harvesting.
Try using cheat destroymytarget rather then kill and see if that lags.
If his exp is high as mentioned its possible the lag is due to trying to crunch the xp/application of levels but doubt it.
If they can test this on another map(the island being the most stable would be a good test ground) with the same settings but not the same number of structures or creatures around and they encounter the lag still then there is something going on with their settings choices that is potentially creating this imo. If the island is free of this then its either something to do with rag or their base location. If they dont get the lag on another area far away where there are no other major dinos structures etc(far south east desert coast is a good recommended spot), then its potentially their location either from structures wilds tames or all of the above too.
Still just too many unknowns.
I don't think pointing out there may be better locations for Console related problems, is being a prick.
Though I suppose that's just sensitivity of folks these days, hmm.
Problem with that is I don't want to have to resort to commands to fix the issue, especoally with somethig this repetitive

Didn't feel like making an account then posting it there when I could simply post a question here with the account I already have and on an app to take me there quicker. Either way, the game's the exact same as it is on either platform, and has the same issues mostly. Might as well try here first.
Singleplayer in general has issues not experienced on servers.
