Tribe Rename

I just tried to rename my tribe on an official server and now I'm locked out on all previous ownership. Mind you the rename button was grayed out so I though you had to leave first in order to rename it. Is there any way to fix this or did I just miss something?

They put a time limit on how often you can change your tribe name. Now, some people have been unable to change it for 2 weeks, so it's likely you wouldn't have been able to change it for a while if you just changed it. That is why it was grayed out.

But, leaving your tribe was probably the worst thing you could have done. If you had tribe members, have them reinvite you to the tribe. If not, there is no way to get your stuff back unless a server admin helps you. I'm not sure if they get on to do things like that, but you can always submit a ticket on their website and see if they respond?

Rename has a cooldown now. By default it is now 15 days of real-time, IIRC.

Thank you for replies and undertood. I was alone and now am screwed.... Now I just tried a new char on a new server and found that I cannot change my name either? LOL, this game makes it very hard to be liked, I must say.

source? i was looking for this information everywhere but nobody knew exactly how long the cooldown is.

the tribe creation starts with a cooldown.

On my own server I changed the cooldown and then restarted using

TribeNameChangeCooldown=1

It took precisely 24 hours for the cooldown to expire from the time the server came back up so from that I inferred that the default, which is TribeNameChangeCooldown=15, is 15 real-time days.
