Archaeopteryx/Glider Flight

Just found out you can basically fly with a glider suit equipped, an Archaeopteryx in hand, and some timely spacebar pressing. Do with this information what you will, 'tis quite funny.

I've never really used the Archaeopteryx, because it is quite useless apart from the fact you can re-use it to glide down.
But you can't simply "put it away" apart from let go of it and make it follow you.
A glide toggle would be useful here.
Anyways, the Archa is quite useless, parachutes work better.

Oh, I'm well aware, I was simply letting everyone know of this glitch/exploit. Basically using them in combination allows you to actually gain altitude without the use of a flyer. Just keep spamming the glider suit, and you'll rise slightly with each deploy of the wings. When you put it away the Archaeopteryx prevents you from falling any significant distance, and after a short interval of time (a second or so) you can redeploy the glider wings and ascend once more. Just repeat this process to essentially fly.

You can hold R to land at any time so it's no biggie not being able to put it away except for the fact that it fills your hands. Be careful though, you will take serious damage if you drop too fast.

BTW, it is a very useful end game dino. You can use it to do the very hard snow cave on the island and also the ridiculously hard tek cave with ease.

Oh yeah I remember seeing a video that say titled like "tek cave with just 1 dino" or so.
I was quite stunned by the fact that this particular dino was in fact the Archaeopteryx.
I expected some super highly bred Therizinosaurus or Rex or whever D:

It's not a very useful dino, just because it can be used to exploit the weakness of the TEK cave...

It would be useful if you could carry it as a shoulder buddy, but for some reason, devs don't want to make this game great again.

How do you know it wasn't designed specificly to forfill that purpose? It may not be an exploit of weakness at all but rather part of their design, A reward for those that take the time to tame the dino's that seem "useless" and also take the time to find what those dinos are good for.

Do you think by this point they don't know that it can be used that way?

Devs just don't really care anymore, so you can do wahtever you want to skip content.

Just imagine the possibilities if you could carry that crap on your shoulder...it would be actually useful - not for just one purpose. Troodons are the same...no one uses them because you cannot carry them on your shoulder.
These are easy changes and would make sense. But as I said, devs don't really care anymore (not like they cared before...).

Yea i didn't believe it tbh. It was actually hard to just write it out. And you are right. So many flaws with the game that have gone unfixed for years.

Im sure after they got everyones money they stopped giving a ♥♥♥♥ really and probably spend most of their days sipping on pina collada's by the beach while we try to find something to do on tame capped servers.

I bet the team that actually do the work on ark now are fresh out of school students with no clue what they are doing,lol.
